RE: Appeal For PSR Breach - tugger2018 - 07-05-2024 Simple sell Yates to Olympiacos for £40 million in June then loan him back in July RE: Appeal For PSR Breach - BomberBowyer - 07-05-2024 (07-05-2024, 09:54 PM)tugger2018 Wrote: Simple sell Yates to Olympiacos for £40 million in June then loan him back in July Looks like Omar Richards may get a start on Thursday for Olympiacos. Wonder if a permanent move to them might be on the cards before 30th June? Olympiacos record transfer fee is around 11m RE: Appeal For PSR Breach - northeastred - 08-05-2024 (07-05-2024, 10:50 PM)The reds Wrote:(07-05-2024, 09:54 PM)tugger2018 Wrote: Simple sell Yates to Olympiacos for £40 million in June then loan him back in July That's why David carmo will end up here. Mendes client. Signed a loan to buy deal with oly for 18m. So obvious it's for us RE: Appeal For PSR Breach - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 08-05-2024 I think we should draw a line under this whole thing now. Finished. Glad we haven't made a ststement. 100% concentration on the next two games. This whole season has been quite turbulent. Will be good to secure safety and then start afresh. I’d expect a more calm summer in terms of transfers, though who knows! Would be good to stick with Nuno too and give him some stability RE: Appeal For PSR Breach - Forest1970 - 08-05-2024 (08-05-2024, 08:21 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: I think we should draw a line under this whole thing now. Totally agree with this. The next 2 games will show Nuno which players he wants playing at the club next season meaning he'll see who has fight and courage to handle the pressure and also see who wants to carry on playing in the Premier League no matter how biased it is towards the ""bigger"" clubs. Assuming we survive which is far from certain. Most of those players and Nuno won’t even be at the club if we don’t RE: Appeal For PSR Breach - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 08-05-2024 What I would add is that IF the club did make a statement after the season has finished then I hope that the statement would look something like the following: 'We consider our punishment to be harsh and disappropriate in relation to the charges. However we acknowledge that mistakes have been made and we are determined to learn from those mistakes to ensure that they never happen again'. Which is why I said what I said. There is a lot of if and buts but what the team needs now is everyone from the club and fans to back them and not seeing it as a glass half empty rather than glass half full. RE: Appeal For PSR Breach - DR Forest - 08-05-2024 There are several things we can do now to mitigate the threat of a second PSR breach this season if we stay up: 1. Sell Murillo (not my preferred option but looks most likely); 2. Sell other less vital players to a similar value (more preferable but difficult/unlikely); Eg CHO £15m, Obrien £5m, Dennis £5m, 2x keepers £5-10m, Panzo, bowler (don't take values literally). A pipe dream before the end of June, but this work should be being done now as ‘every penny helps’. 3. Consider sale and loan back - either a real one to buy more time or a dodgy ‘Olympiakos’ one. 4. Get that f*****g council to sell us the freehold; then sell it to EM for a profit; 5. Explore other asset sales that might be feasible (rather than players such as Murillo). 6. Manage our budget properly as we will have shed much of the chaff and got a core squad in place. One final thought- if we don’t hit the PSR target then it may not matter as much this season because 1. Ipswich will go back down over a season; (as would Norwich if they make it); 2. Leicester face an immediate deduction; 3. Multiple other clubs will also be in the same boat so any deduction will likely be diluted. I can see a June PSR market developing with clubs selling players to each other for inflated prices so they can recognise the full sale proceeds of any sales but incur perhaps only 20% of any purchases. Perhaps a sub-cartel will develop! Given the above, there is however a train of thought that it might just be worth taking the points hit and keeping Murillo and MGW…. Everton only got two points for a second breach. You just know the goal posts will change with us. |
