RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Salvatore Matrecano - 02-10-2025 (02-10-2025, 11:21 AM)Paplane Wrote: Douglas Luiz suffers from 'intramuscular edema' apparently. Is this the reason why 1) he's currently injured, 2) We managed to sign such a top class player and 3) We got him for such a bargain. This story has been public for quite some time. We call it Oedema in a proper language by the way! Think it’s something that needs managing and will always limit his playing time but not necessarily why he is injured now. It does make you question the fee we are prepared to pay though but agree if he was 100% fit he would probably be out of our reach. We took a chance on the long term fitness of CHO and that decision seems to have worked out ok. Maybe this signing is a similar, optimistic punt on a player with a fitness question against his name. The guy is top class and I've never understood why the big clubs weren't rushing to sign him. This is probably why. RE: Injuries And Suspensions - stirred - 02-10-2025 From Luiz in May about his struggles at Juventus; “Injuries have hindered me, yes,' he added. 'But how long did I remain on the bench while I was healthy? A lot. These injuries were not normal. 'I have never been a player who gets injured, but there are so many things that could have caused this that I would rather not comment on. RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Salvatore Matrecano - 03-10-2025 Head Coach Ange Postecoglou says Murillo trained today and they'll "wait and see" on his fitness for Sunday's trip to Newcastle. Postecoglou says Murillo hurt his back in falling awkwardly during last night's game and it's not a recurrence of his previous injury. https://x.com/bbcrns/status/1974117910781235600?s=61&t=_GBMMtayZnR8xJ7BGfyX7A OK so why does it have a picture of him holding his thigh muscle and he proceeded to limp around like he needed an amputation. Sorry, I know In doubting a lot of things at the moment. RE: Injuries And Suspensions - stirred - 03-10-2025 I’m concerned at overplaying players. Zinchenko had hardly played club football in months, mainly odd appearances for Ukraine in international breaks. Then Ange plays him for all 90minutes 4 times in 10 days. Sorry but that’s just f@&king stupid. Now we have less ability to rest Neco. And worse than that, because Ange is desperate for that first win, he’s just going to pick the best 11 he can and rotation to managing bodies is out of the window. Anderson has played 90minutes every match bar Swansea. That’s 7 matches in 27 days. Williams had 30 mins rest in a Wales match else similar. And they’re clearly both starting against Newcastle. Not to mention bringing Murillo back when he didn’t look right from early on. Spurs’ injury crisis wasn’t just bad luck was it. I think Ange will be sacked after losing to Newcastle. I’ll harbour no hard feelings, he just wasn’t good enough. But if he leaves us with more injuries because of his refusal to rotate, then I will. It's the beginning of the season, I'm not buying the overplaying players nonsense. And, it does not matter whether Ange has his best XI or not, his tactics work in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic but not in the Prem. They simply don't cut it in the elite leagues. RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Username - 04-10-2025 It’s not the beginning of the season for some. There’s a few who have had little to no break due to the Club World Cup and International fixtures. RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Salvatore Matrecano - 15-10-2025 Wood injured? From yesterday match report The leveller came after Wood hit the crossbar three minutes into the second half, running onto a curled ball from de Vries down the left. He then sent a free header wide soon after and also forced a save after receiving another ball from de Vries before leaving the fray just prior to Norway’s response after feeling tightness in his knee, an injury concern coach Darren Bazeley described as “nothing too bad” afterwards. Apparantly just precautionary RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Sausage Roll - 23-10-2025 Sorry to put a dampener on tonight but we're a bit light at full back now. RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Username - 23-10-2025 Thought Zinchenko was the weak link at the back tonight again anyway until he went off. Savona got better the more touches of the ball he got, the kid looks like he needs games and some love.
