No idea, but square peg in round hole comes to mind.

Seeing reports that Darikwa could be out for the season (not a clue what the injuiry is btw) and we have approached Danny Simpson's agent last night with an offer.

Cash is more than capable of filling the role. It would need a very good signing to improve on him despite it not being his favoured position. As an aside does anyone remember Chets and Des in there 1st few games? Cloughy started them off in 1st team at RB to bed them in.

Not necessarily SM. They could be waiting for the swelling to go down before they do anything. My daughter did her ACL in a couple of years ago and was walking on it and even played volleyball at college before she was diagnosed with it. Then she had to wait a couple of months before she could have her operation

From the BBC:

We understand that Forest defender Tendayi Darikwa has suffered a knee injury in training - it's not clear at the moment how serious it is.

Benalouane has played at right back at club and international level in the past. Think he may be an option in away games - if he is fit of course!

Tendayi Darikwa injury confirmed as a ruptured ACL... he faces a long spell on the sidelines. Club won't put a timescale on it, but fair to say he won't play again this year. Wish him a speedy recovery #nffc

Feel for him as needed a good start this year to get fans back on side. Anyone know why these days we seem to be seeing more and more players having ACL's and longer term injuries

Could it have anything to do with the higher quality of playing surface they now use?

The training grounds, astro turfs, the stadium pitches are all pristine all year around nowadays. Unlike in the old days when the ground was mud for 2 thirds of the season, and whilst slippery underfoot, was softer on the knees, less jarring impact during running.

Let us not forget that a certain Mr Brian Clough's playing career ended as a result of an ACL injury too!

All to do with twisting and turning at speed, or complete change in direction at speed (maybe whilst in attack mode, losing the ball, then having to immediately track back?) as said before running backs in the nfl pop there’s all the time, because of the nature of their gameplay, with cutting in a new direction to try and make defenders miss tackles
