RE: Short Term or Long Term - PsychoStanleyStone - 23-07-2021

my thought for today is:

we have seemingly loads of cash to spend it becomes short term, promotion this season

we have no money, as in seemingly this season it automatically becomes long term

maybe this year will be the most soberly cold light of day honest year, long term it is then, we will be watching the future, the £50million superstars of tomorrow, feel honored to be part of this journey **disclaimer** when you are stood on an open terrace somewhere in the north west on a tuesday night, soaking wet and cold, and we are 3.0 down at ht and about to slip into the relegation zone, the player you are screaming at for being totally useless prick .. is tomorrows superstar

I have just listened to the interview with Dane and if he works as well as he speaks and delivers on a philosophy for this club then we will be absolutely fine in the short and long term. Really enjoyed his interview. Excited to see how he implements and engrains his ideas in to the club. Really really positive on how he thinks we can get the edge over other teams by doing things slightly differently and not targeting the same players so we get better value for money.

Welcome Dane, you have certainly made an impressive start with that level of communication. It has been some time since we have had it and long may it continue.

my thought for the day is as we are now entering a potential 4th or more season of shortermism based on a glut of transfers in on the last day of the window, this is by definition a long term strategy, as in it is consistent, seemingly flawed but never the less long term strategy as in every transfer window feels like a blend of 'this is it' blended with the old 'ground hog day' feeling

could even concoct a 'this season is the culimination of the 5 year plan' that they were all talking about back in the day and that this is really what long term looks like in the 2020's

Despite have his own dedicated thread and instructions that he should put ALL his posts thereon, I see that PSS still runs amok throughout this forum…….causing bewilderment, distress, anxiety and other medical issues to the other posters….the question I pose is does anyone actually read his posts to the end…? ( tongue firmly in cheek PSS, honest)

ah, well, Sniff's long term strategy is that ALL my posts should self isolate .. ha ha LT, ST or Both you decide!  Seems the short term requirements are that my posts are relevant to topic, which i appreciate is something i need at least a 5 year plan to achieve
