RE: Alex Mighten - Strawberry Avenger - 06-01-2020 Speaking of young players, Yates was robbed of a goal. Think we were robbed of the penalty too. Mighten and Brennan show great promise. Very young, much to learn but the potential is there. Put them on the wings and let them run all day long. Having Mighten on the bench after his Chelsea display. SA. RE: Alex Mighten - jurgen rober - 06-01-2020 You can see why Man Utd were watching him in the last year or so. They were trying to lure him away but he signed a new contract last month, thankfully. Lets hope that Mighten keeps learning and progressing. The potential is no doubt there. RE: Alex Mighten - Fella - 06-01-2020 Mightens performance practically retired Adomah, the bloke looked like he was running in treacle all afternoon! RE: Alex Mighten - Strawberry Avenger - 06-01-2020 Why is it...I spend a good few years thinking we need eg. Adomah...a constant thorn, goal scorer and menace to opposition teams...and when we finally get him, he's a spent force? (He did show promise in the earlier part of the season.) Are his legs gone? Or is he simply not match sharp? I remember The Coach rollocking him earlier in the season for not tracking back. (Adomah isn't the only one guilty of that this season. See 1st half performance vs Chelsea yesterday....) Yes. Mighten seemed like the future yesterday. Adomah did not. SA. RE: Alex Mighten - Jean_claude_killy - 06-01-2020 There is a huge, huge difference between playing in a meaningless game and performing well and doing it week in week out when the pressure of trying to get promoted hangs over your head. Mighten played well, very well in fact, but he needs to be handled carefully; people thinking about throwing him into the promotion fight do not have to live with the consequences of potentially destroying his career. Lamouchi has handled the kids very well as far as developing their careers are concerned; as far as I am concerned he is best left to it, he knows their capabilities and character better than any of us do. As for Adomah; he was signed as a bit part player and that is exactly what he is; he has a very important role to play between now and the end of the season. If he comes on and does what he did at Charlton and against Preston a few more times this season he will have done his job. The curation of Mighten is important. We've seen how opinions can ebb and flow with young players, Os', Worrall, Cash, Car', Yates etc. So, you're on the nail there. As for Adomah. Spot on. If used in that context...be fine. Assists. Last minute goals against tiring teams. ...holding the ball up, keeping possession. As with Watson, Dawson and Adomah. I didn't expect Forest to wage a full campaign on the backs of any of them. Especially with ageing wingers whose legs are probably shot. I know I can't run faster than when I was five. For sure. SA. RE: Alex Mighten - McDurban - 07-01-2020 I was really impressed with Mighten on Sunday, he looks like a great prospect. I hope he gets the opportunity for a few sub appearances this season, although with it looking like a sprint to the finish line I think those opportunities will be rare. If we bring in another winger maybe he can go on loan to League One. I do wonder how many flies he catches during a game, his mouth is always wide open. My only worry is that the big guns will be sniffing. Young English talent is like rocking horse shit. RE: Alex Mighten - Turkish - 07-01-2020 Watson's legs went 2 season's ago apparently and now Uncle Albert's have gone too, from one winger to another twice the age they both have a part to play for the rest of this season, as God said if you are good enough you are old enough and Mighten is good enough RE: Alex Mighten - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 11-01-2020 Great to see young Mighten in the 18 today. |
