That team was much underrated back then and over time it’s collective efforts have been overshadowed by Stan’s achievements.

I’m not even convinced that MGW is our best number ten right now but he is nowhere near the player Lars wars. He could do and see things that no one else could.

Absolutely spot on.

I'm loving life this season, but let's talk when/if the current squad achieve top 4 and last 8 of a major European trophy.

Potentially, some areas of the current side could be stronger in the future, but currently no way.

Sels better than Norman????  I'll have what you're having please.

What a great thread. I watched the breaking the record tape constantly for about 3 years after this season. It had the cheesiest 90's music and songs edited in. "yeah we're winning".

Systems were so loose back then, players just used to play. It's hard to merge the two groups although I find it hard to leave Brian Roy out.

The thing with Norman is that a lot of people never forgave him for some woeful mistakes in that nightmare relegation season but from Roots Hall in August 1993 onwards he really was excellent

I echo that. A great thread Sausage Roll.

Cheers chaps.

I admit there's probably some recency bias with my team selection - especially around MGW vs. Bohinen who really was a tremendous player.

And yes I do remember a few ricks from Crossley which is why I went with Sels.

It's just nice to be able to discuss a current team doing well and a past team who gave me probably my most enjoyable season as a Forest fan.

Most of Norm’s errors were under Clough though.

He was prone to the odd mistake once Frank walked through the door but they became minimal, unless it involved putting windows through

Nice that you have looked at the season 30 years ago 1994/5 and compared to 2004/5

How about we pick some players from exactly 20 years ago 2004/5
Here is the team that got stuffed 6-0 by Ipswich that year. Want to include any in your team?

Nottm Forest: Gerrard, Curtis, Melville, Morgan, Doig, Rogers (Perch 59), Friio, Powell (Evans 56), Commons, Dobie (Harris 56), Taylor.
Subs Not Used: Doyle, Thompson

Different times eh? There is a young defender called Wesley in there though.

Just compare with one of the finest hours by our 94 team, the 1-4 demolition of Klinsman led media darlings Tottenham when the rest of the league realised Forest were a proper team.
1 Crossley
5 Chettle
4 Cooper
2 Lyttle
3 Pearce
9 Bohinen
7 Phillips
11 Stone
17 Black
22 Roy
10 Collymore

Crossley Pearce Cooper, Stone Bohinen Roy Collymore all incredibly talented. Possibly Stone not yet at his best that year. Would find it hard not to include the other 6.

What a great day out that was.

We only had 750 tickets because they were rebuilding one of the ends but we outsang them from the first minute.

Stone was excellent that day. I think he was up against Mickey Hazard and completely ripped him a new one.

The goal from Bohinen was sublime, to beat Walker from there *chefs kiss

I wonder if you took the period between Frank Clark getting sacked and Steve Cooper getting appointed whether you could come up with many players that would get into either the 94/95 or 24/24 teams?

So many stadium refurbishments that season. Chelsea and Palace too if I remember rightly. David Phillips scored an absolute screamer against either Palace or Wimbledon.

Reid, Dawson, Jenas, Johnson and Cash would be in with a shout.
