I commend the club for assembling this sqaud. Its a joy to watch. I know it's pre season but I've a very good feeling about this season. We've still not done in this window either.

Couldn’t watch Cus of a shift change. Seems we’re close to being ready. Is that what the majority of you that went or watched would say?
Was convinced we’d played Villarreal before, guess not, 8th in La Liga last season, knocked out of last seasons europa league at first knockout round. Good opponents even if it is pre-season I’d say

Decent but not thrilling performance. Reasonably tight at back, let them through a couple of times. Both full backs off the pace, Aina loads of mistakes- really need a starting left back IMO.
Midfield a lot of options now, Sangare better but yet to be convinced he cuts it in a full pace PL game. Anderson promising 25 mins.
Didn’t create too much but a few clear chances, Wood still looks sharp, Taiwo looked rusty as anything but prob to be expected. Far too much rests on those 2 up front, really need a 3rd option which will probably cost big £, a loan may be the way.
We’ve had a decent summer but only Milenkovic and Anderson strengthen our strongest team right now, further work to do still. Having said that we look in significantly better shape than we did start of either the previous 2 seasons.

Fair assessment SM but tbf about the new signings, they are the only two you would expect to improve the team at this stage.
Miguel and Moreira need to settle in, Stamenic isn’t here and jota and sosa haven’t even pulled their boots on yet.

Anderson looks a player. Think he'll quickly become a key player just not sure where he''ll fit in. Milenkovic looked solid & assured, Sangare had another strong game.
Full backs werent great. Hopefully we get Locko and Aina can play RB. Elanga's dribbles went nowhere, Danilo looked sharp but gave it away far too often, Murillo needs to sharpen up.

Decent game I thought. Our press is much better and we are playing higher up. Some good passing combinations in tight spaces starting to develop. Elliot Anderson looks a player but our new defender was majestic - strong and intelligent- covered Murillo brilliantly. Murillo was not great - error after error including a pen and killed their centre half who had been warming up for 30 minutes of the first half.
Elanga put a great ball in for wood who hit it too well and straight - also Awonyi was put through numerous times but his timing was off- rusty…
Sangare was decent but so was Yates when he came on - Yates looked a yard quicker than normal.

Agree with that summary Ozzy. Thought Wood, Murillo and Danilo were sloppy. Anderson looks like he will be a starter. Awoniyi ran in behind, something which we didn't have for the first 75 minutes. Milenkovic very good.

I agree with the general view that an injection of quality to the starting 11 is needed to avoid a relegation battle, preferably a defensively sound full back.

Yeah, if we look at the starting XI, there is only one new addition, Milenkovic.
While we have more depth and have replaced Felipe we are banking on improved cohesion and tactical options off the bench for improvement.
