Just think at home we should be scoring as many as possible, and save our nitty gritty stuff away from home against big teams, and try to see off overs away from home with more than scrappy draws or 1.0 wins. I can't handle been on edge and nerves for 80 mins after scoring first ha. We have a top ten squad now. Hopefully we start playing like one
Since when do we have a top ten squad? We sold our best attacking player and replaced him with a plethora of unproven (but potentially good players). We strengthened in midfield but are weaker at LB than last year, we're weaker in goal and we're weaker at CB right now until Felipe is fit.
How has our squad suddenly gone from relegation battlers to top 10?
This isn't being negative btw, just trying to reign in some expectations.
The squad is much stronger now Wassy.
We may not be top 10 like you siad but the squad is undoubtedly stronger.
Why are we weaker at LB? Aina as so far looked just as good as Lodi if not better and we now have Tavares too.
Weaker in goal? Based on what? Vlachodimos is an excellent goalkeeper and better than Henderson in my opinion which is why Man Utd tried to sign him. Turner currently has the shirt and he's looked good too so far.
You also said we have sold our best attacking player but I don't think we have, both MGW and Awoniyi are still here. Yes we sold BJ but we appear to look a better team without him.

Think that's a slightly over-critical assessment.
We don't know if we're weaker in goal yet as we've not seen Vlachodimos play. Turner might not be better than Henderson and Navas were but he hasn't shown anything to raise massive concerns yet.
Lodi was excellent towards the end of the season but it took him a while. I'd argue that Aina has started as well as Lodi did if not better and we also have Tavares now.
When Felipe is fit (which must be close as he turned out for the U21s) then we're the same at CB but with the added depth of Murillo and Omabamadele (though with the caveat they're both untried at Premier League level).
Agree with you further up the pitch though. CHO will take time to get up to speed and hopefully whatever forced Elanga out of the Sweden squad is only minor.

Yeah hopefully we are better. I've not seen the new keeper play so no idea if he's better but seems unlikely he's better than Hendo/Navas otherwise he'd have cost more. Whether he or Turner is as good, we'll see. I do really like Aina from what I've seen so far but 3 games isn't enough to crown him just yet.
Best attacking player is subjective, all three are fairly even really. The point is expecting a guy that's never played regularly or a guy that's been mainly injured to be as good or better is optimistic.
All of these points could turn out to be wrong and maybe we do have a top ten side. However based on the evidence so far I'd say we're only marginally better on paper than last year if at all. That's not to say they won't play better as a lot of these guys are improving as they settle and are young. Plus some of the younger guys will steadily come through too.
I think the squad is better but it's too early to say the first 11 is better. Obviously I really hope it is but expecting us to suddenly take a massive leap is optimistic.

I wouldn't read too much into the cost Wassy especially for a transfer between EM and Benfica!

It's certainly not going to keep me up worrying and it's good to have two competent keepers now. Way top early to suggest we are better there than last year. It's certainly better than where it was in July when we just had Horvath though!

Cooper doesn't like to rush new players into the starting XI.
The internationals will not have had much time with the team.
Sangare though is unlike any other player in the squad so I expect him to start in a 4-3-3 with Yates and Mangala.
I think 3-4-3 is more difficult to predict what he'll do, so I'll stick with Yates & Mangala with Sangare/Dominguez coming off the bench, depending what the scoreline is.
I'm assuming Danilo is injured.

Does anyone think Santos might get in alongside Sangare and Dominguez /yates one things is for sure whoever plays we will see the 2 that start on the bench come on at 60 for the 2 starting 8’s this will be our biggest strength this season .
Filipe and Niakhate must start as 2 CB’s .

I don't see any way on the planet that Cooper drops all of Worrall, McKenna and Boly after the game they had at Chelsea. And nor should he as they were outstanding.

Or changes formation for that matter. It'll be the same team as last game except Sangare will probably play over Mangala and probably Elanga starts if fit.
I suppose the slight counter to that is, you've get to try and get Felipe into the side at some point and get his fitness up. No rush of course and the fact he hasn't come on much yet suggests he's not ready but you'd hope he'll get some minutes. Niakhate, personally don't think he's better than Boly anyway (in fact IMO Boly is better) aside from the throw-ins.

The fact the Sangare has been away with Ivory Coast, hasn't trained at all with Forest, and doesn't speak English; I think that this game could be too early for him to be selected.

I think we will see a different type of Burnley team in this game. Kompany will have realised that the passing style they used to play doesn't work for them in a league where they no longer have the best players and teams are more tactical than the guns blazing championship. I think during the break he would have been working on doing what we did which is to defend deep and break.

As I'm sure others have pointed out, they've started similarly to how we did last season in trying to play like they did in the Championship and getting punished for it.
Will Kompany abandon how he wants to play for a more pragmatic approach like Cooper did? If so, hopefully it won't be until after Monday!
