RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 02-06-2022

Can't wait for the season to start. No talk of just staying up from EM, all talk is of a top half finish and a flirtation with Europe.
Positive ambition only. Anyone who wants to talk about just managing to stay up can leave the building apparently.

I hope we're not going to do a Fulham by chucking £100m+ at a season and still being relegated.

Well we don't have Scott Parker Pap.

Yeah hopefully we do what Fulham did but we have Stevie Cooper so it'll all be good!

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Mcforest - 02-06-2022

I think we need to go for midtable this year and don't worry about the cup runs. Going to be a very different season with the world cup cutting the season in two parts. Need to start strong and start the re-start after the world cup strong. Teams with players away at the tournament will being to flag near the end as so many games will be played. Early points on the board count more than ever this year.

We are going to stay up and reach Caraboa Cup final next season..........you heard it here first.

You'd think the tournament will give teams like us that won't be sending loads of players a big advantage. With McKenna now officially out of the tournament we only currently have Johnson, Layrea and Horvath in it as far as I can see. Obviously pending the new signings we make of course. Johnson may as get knocked out shortly.

Yates will be going.

I would hope so for two main reasons firstly players who would be going to the world cup will have one on that at the end of the season part 1 and won't be willing to risk an injury so not playing to the full 100%. Second we get an extra break mid way to have another preseason and to adjust our plans and way of play to make sure teams haven't figured us out for the final run in.

The risk is players losing match fitness during the break if not managed correctly.

And Spence, Worrall, Garner and either Davies or Surridge (depending upon which one reaches 25 goals by November....)

They always go on about the benefits of a winter break, we get to see the reality now.

I think another advantage is normally at christmas the bottom teams really suffer with the ridiculous schedule and the top teams with massive squads just rotate so it's much easier for them. However that period will come after a large break whereas the big teams players will have just returned from the WC so we should have the advantage. In this respect it's a great year to have just got promoted really.

Watch us sign a load of internationals now!
