He’s priceless to us.
170m increases to 300m guaranteed if you stay up the first season

We will need to make him the highest paid player, which he deserves TBF.
A relegation clause to protect the player.

Absolutely agree with this^

You dont sell a player for £20m when the value of him staying is £150m

I hope the contract we offer him reflects his value to the club. I heard from a source I trust the one we offered last year would have kept him amongst the lowest paid players in the team.
Offer him a premier league contract and say he can leave if relegated.
In my opinion if he plays he will score 20 in the PL and Forest will stay up, he is that important.

I’m not convinced he is going to sign one.

I think he will to be fair provided the Johnson's can be convinced the ambition is there which i believe it is.

Be nice just get a couple of quality players in early doors to convey the message.

In reality such is his talent this will be his only contract he signs with us. He's destained for greater things than we sadly can't deliver/offer

Like Spence?

No, Dean Henderson

Hope you are correct Sniffer

Worth pointing out that if he had signed a contract last year he would likely have done so with a release clause that was lower than his current value so he could still effectively have held us hostage to it.
Hopefully there are some grown up discussions taking place with a sensible approach on both sides.

Been saying it for weeks, it's happening.

It might be happening Sniff but what level of release clause fee are the Johnsons asking for this time? I bet they go for something as low as £15m, which would be daylight robbery and basically put them in a position where they could opt to leave for any club at any time of their choosing.

Surely the only clause they would want is a relegation clause.

If we are going to make him the highest paid player, which I would imagine we will do, then a release clause of at least 25m is realistic

No way are the club agreeing to a 15m release clause. We're a Prem club now. The only reason it would be so low in the Championship would be to make it reasonable for a Prem club to aquire him.

30m minimum moving forward

RE: Brennan Johnson - Sausage Roll - 18-06-2022

If we turned down £18m in January - before he had arguably his best spell of the season - I can't imagine his people would even suggest a clause so low.

Better still, no release clause.

There is no reason why he should not get regular game time in the PL now, and the wage and bonuses to go with it.

We cannot have players dictating to the club
