You put it out on the forum that we are ALWAYS on the look out for potential replacements and that it would not be right of the club not to cover all bases, so all I assumed is that this continues even though we have appointed Ange, correct? Can see him getting the full seasons. If not both. Anyone else he would get the sack. But he will get a bit leeway as they are good mates. Iv just learned to live with it and hope we stay up RE: Ange - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 29-09-2025 (29-09-2025, 11:37 AM)northeastred Wrote:(29-09-2025, 10:29 AM)Reds73 Wrote:(29-09-2025, 10:12 AM)DR Forest Wrote:(29-09-2025, 09:25 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote:(29-09-2025, 09:11 AM)Reds73 Wrote: I see no way that Ange is not here for at least the full season. Good. All the bandwagon jumpers and half and half scarf wankers can do one. RE: Ange - Salvatore Matrecano - 29-09-2025 Good grief can we please let the Glasner stuff go! 1. He wasn’t available because he is employed by another PL club who certainly weren’t going to release him to us even if he wanted to come. 2. This time last year he was in the bottom 3 with Palace and you lot would have been calling for his head had he been here. Get behind Ange. Im on board with 16th place and Europa league winners, bring it on! United tickets have only gone on sale to PROD at 10am this morning. RE: Ange - Simon - 29-09-2025 will be interesting to see how we play against teams that are more open over the next couple of weeks. Not to mention that there's no way on this Earth that Palace would've sanctioned him moving to us. I mean 2 seasons struggling to stay up by the skin of our teeth then out of nowhere we have an amazing season which at the end was already falling away. All we have done really is gone back to the levels we are. Don't think it would matter who was incharge this season it was a back to normal season and being brought back to reality. I think my point is if you have a manager who has been in this position before and he's telling you what he wants, ignoring that and bloating the squad with new faces is bound to cause issues. You generally can't get results all season with exception to a couple of teams near the top. Precisely. RE: Ange - Simon - 29-09-2025 it was but without knowing what has gone on behind the scenes it is impossible to form an accurate opinion. Nuno Clearly wanted out and put himself in a position where the owners had to act. Whether something had happened behind the scenes or he had been approached by another club i doubt we will ever find out. I'd rather Nuno had stayed and rather Ange hadn't been appointed but we are where we are. We have seen some signs of positive play but perhaps not got the rewards. Hopefully things will settle, we can get a win on Thursday and start to kick on a bit. If Ange can get us playing consistently how we did in the 1st half v Betis i think we would all be happy.... Firstly, please don’t patronise me or any other members who have expressed a preference for Glasner. I believe he is a better ‘all round’ coach than Ange. It’s an opinion and time will tell. Secondly, it doesn’t mean we aren’t behind Ange. I happen to welcome a more adventurous approach. Thirdly, Ange was on an hiding to nothing due to circumstances beyond his control: -Our three most attacking defensive players have all been injured or not ready - Aina Murillo Luiz. -The flair players all need time to settle. Look at Williams for example. -He hasn’t had a pre season (ref Nuno’s frustration too). The cards are stacked until we get to January and we can retune slightly. (Eg we may caibano in then to bolster the ranks). I’m not worried because we will start winning games; I agree about 16th and euro cup winners, I’d take that all day. But we can’t guarantee that …. In a nutshell, what I’m saying is there shouldn’t be too much of a knee jerk reaction - just yet. However, I think we will still need to step up a division in managerial terms again if we are to continue our progress. History shows Cooper was the right man out the blocks; Nuno ran the back straight on the second leg so let’s hope Ange now takes the baton without dropping it completely. RE: Ange - JollyLollyAussie - 30-09-2025 Who should take the baton down the finishing straight DR? Wasn’t patronising you. Just frustrated at those stating “we should have got Glasner instead” as if that was a possibility. It wasn’t. Also pointing out that a new manager needs time to implement ideas which some don’t seem to want to give him. I happen to agree that Ange wasn’t the most obvious pick and share the concerns expressed but he’s here so make the best of it. |
