Let’s get to reality here, we have comfortably been the better side in the last 4 games.

Ange can’t exactly do a lot about strikers missing free headers from 5 yards and defenders not tracking runners.

These results have been zero to do with his perceived stylistic approach, this is about players not doing their job.

Injuries to Aina and Murillo have been instrumental imho.

However, whilst it’s too early to judge, I do wonder if too much watching paint dry under Nuno ball has led to romantic dreams clouding judgement.

It’s painful but I accept it was probably time for the next step up the managerial ladder, as it was when cooper left for Nuno.

Yet I can’t help feeling we should have pushed the boat out for a certain guy at Crystal Palace. 
Even with a slow start, Glasner would have the immediate respect needed from the fans, projecting stability and receiving more patience to build his team.

Ange has a better record than Glasner !

The identity thing I agree with and sympathise with Nuno over lack of  pre season but not sure that was avoidable. Bringing in so many does destabilise a close knit group but again most (not all) of that was necessary.

Agree with McForest in that I reckon we were a one trick pony last season. Nuno did know what he was doing but there was no other way. We hit a purple patch with players coming in to form, confidence grew around the squad, we were incredibly lucky with injuries (yes skill there too) and you ended up with a team that believed it could go an knock anyone over.
But against any opponent who adapted their game to counter us we then fell short, Everton was classic. The cup run if we are honest was flukey and sometimes painful.

To an extent we are reverting to normal. Spending £30m on players in this league guarantees you absolutely nothing, certainly doesn’t mean you magically have a top 10 squad. All of that means it possibly wasn’t the wisest thing to bring in a coach with a completely different ethos but he’s also arrived at a very difficult time.

Firstly, please don’t patronise me or any other members who have expressed a preference for Glasner.
I believe he is a better ‘all round’ coach than Ange. It’s an opinion and time will tell.

Secondly, it doesn’t mean we aren’t behind Ange. 
I happen to welcome a more adventurous approach.

Thirdly, Ange was on an hiding to nothing due to circumstances beyond his control:

-Our three most attacking defensive players have all been injured or not ready - Aina Murillo Luiz.
-The flair players all need time to settle. Look at Williams for example.
-He hasn’t had a pre season (ref Nuno’s frustration too).

The cards are stacked until we get to January and we can retune slightly.
(Eg we may caibano in then to bolster the ranks).
I’m not worried because we will start winning games; I agree about 16th and euro cup winners, I’d take that all day. But we can’t guarantee that ….

In a nutshell, what I’m saying is there shouldn’t be too much of a knee jerk reaction - just yet.
However, I think we will still need to step up a division in managerial terms again if we are to continue our progress. History shows Cooper was the right man out the blocks; Nuno ran the back straight on the second leg so let’s hope Ange now takes the baton without dropping it completely.
