Then Im not having a go and Sniffer will probably leap to his defence but Marinakis isn’t the most forgiving and straightforward employer to deal with. You know how often he presses the trigger at Olympiacos, 5th manager in 16 months if I am correct? Yes I know he has kept faith with Cooper but he has actively looked for alternatives 3 time in little over a year now, he openly said he would have swapped in April if there was someone suitable. Lets say there was a choice in clubs to manage between Palace and Forest, which one looks the option with the most stable job prospects?

Can I just correct you Salv. EM didnt say there was no one suitable. He said there was no one better than Cooper. It wasn't a slur on Cooper, it was a poorly phrased compliment by a guy who speaks English as a second language.

Oh absolutely but it will make the instant gratification bunch happy.

My point is if Cooper continues we will literally be going game to game, win he survives, lose and the Cooper Out brigade will be back. Its just not sustainable and will never give the team any breathing space. At least the next poor sap probably gets the rest of the season unless its a total disaster.

Salv mate, you need to see the whole picture. We desperately need some gratification. Are you saying 3 wins in 17 games is sustainable for a manager in the prem? I like Cooper a lot, as you do, but if he doesnt get results then it only ends one way. I can see that, why cant you?

No Pap its in no way acceptable I totally agree as per my comments in the Next few games thread.

RE: Stevie Cooper - ozzyten10 - 10-12-2023

I’m a big cooper in man. However, current form he will have to go. My only issue is the players that have come in ate below par. Dominguez looked great early on but has been a shadow of his early games. Sanagre - I just don’t see a player in there- hardly an upgrade on Yates in his showings so far. Origi - clear cooper doesn’t want him. CHO - something to work with but fitness will always be an issue. Elanga - some positives but is an erratic winger/forward. Ainas form has fallen off a cliff, montiel and Tavares have been f****d off for some reason and don’t get me started on santos. Murillo looks great though.
Mangala took an age to get going so maybe too early to write them off.

This season

Last season

We’re pretty much on par just the bad run was in a different place and we’ve got worse teams below us. Also after what ever burst of inspiration Reid’s return gave us at the end of last season it has worn off.

Was Fulhams game this season the Leicester game of last season?

Spurs currently winning 2-0 against a knackered Newcastle, I’m worried we’re facing them at the wrong time.

Where are our wins coming from? From games 17-22 last year we won 3 the only problem is they were against southampton Leicester and Leeds…

Agreed. We have a formula that gets results, let's reset and revert to it. If it doesn't work out then a change will be required.

Mendes and cordon are hunting managers. Julien the main choice. Fan support stopping cooper been sacked at present

I get the Fan Support to a degree but the last few days the Cooper Love in has been ridiculous. I want us to attack teams most of the game not defend for most of the game.

RE: Stevie Cooper - ozzyten10 - 10-12-2023

Looking at the client list then Nuno Espirites Santos looks a firm candidate…

RE: Stevie Cooper - Jacksbadhobbits - 10-12-2023

The stakes are high for the owner. Get this decision wrong and we most likely get relegated with a massive wage bill. Last time it took us 23 years to get back. Premier league is tough. There are no easy points. The owner needs to be confident any new manager will get better results than Cooper. We do know Cooper got us out of a tight spot last season. For me sacking Cooper at this point of the season is a gamble. Any more Fulhamesque capitulation’s would probably change that calculation. There have been some massive question marks about our recruitment over the last 12 months. Cooper has to take some responsibility. The Wood and Shelvey signings come to mind the most and these have really handicapped us in the transfer market this summer. I would stick with Cooper for now but he needs to get the most out of this squad which he assembled. If we stay up there needs to be strategic recruitment and not scattergun as it so often appears.

RE: Stevie Cooper - RyanR - 10-12-2023

I still think it’ll be Lopetegui. I’d imagine Cooper’s birthday has been a stay of execution and the big man will be lining up the replacement to take over early next week. The fact that Lopetegui has been in the country learning the English game and I’m sure the big man will have had contact with him at various points. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some form of sit down interview with Cooper a bit like what Man U did with Solskjaer to try and spin the sacking as a “mutual agreement” while he gets ready to take over at Palace. That would go some way into addressing the worries about lack of fan support. It’s possible to wish the best for Cooper and have fond memories while being unhappy with the current performance of the team and I think Marinakis will be rightly wanting more

RE: Stevie Cooper - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 11-12-2023

We need to be careful that this fan support for Steve doesn't get us relegated. Are the fans going to take responsibility if we go down?

Personally I don't think they will, they are more likely to blame EM instead but it's the fans keeping Steve in the job and sending us down the table towards the relegation zone.

I agree though with a lot of what Jackbadhobitts said above, he makes some good points.
