Sow played well aside from the yellow cards. Would require a change of tactics to have a number 10 RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - audiosmee - 26-09-2020 I thought Sow looked clumsy -not match for certainly. Arter and Colback got in each other’s way and spaces not surprising but need more instruction. Really hope we’re not bringing in Cafu- we need more pace and dynamism I’d have preferred Lolly or Mighten for Sow to allow Freeman in the middle to influence the game more. Liked the centre half’s and their willingness to bring the ball out rather than pump the ball into channels Christie shouldn’t be as rusty as he was but I think Blackett more of a CB than a LB- maybe see Ioannou there soon. RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - JollyLolly - 26-09-2020 The most frustrating thing about the 2nd half display was the oh so slow pace of our build-up play with no apparent plan in place, we need more urgency in our play and at least a strike on goal for those efforts RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - the jock - 26-09-2020 Freeman just cant seem to get a hold of the ball. Taylor getting hit with hospital balls. We just dont have support moving forward as a team. RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - ac_vodka - 26-09-2020 " your next move is to; dismantle a whole team nd try to build a new one" but attempt the same strategy - there in lies the problem for me its not the players but how we are set up to play. 3 DM`s was a bit much and we looked better with Mighten on. The team generally seemed to be improved all round player wise and I think it will click eventually. Mckenna looks very useful and we now have depth in squad although remains to be seen who is leaving. RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - Tricky - 26-09-2020 Did anybody else notice young Mighten have a go when he had the ball and nobody was moving into space for him to pass it to. He ended up losing the ball as a result! That is a young lad having a go at older, supposedly more experienced players!! RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - ozzyten10 - 26-09-2020 It doesn’t matter what system we play - it’s about mentality. The low block has been nullified by teams since February. We need to push up our defensive line by at least 10 yards and if playing 433 the front 3 need to be closer together and pressing high. It ended up with full backs pushing on and a straight line of almost 7 players contesting the middle of the park as freeman and Ameobi kept coming deep. We seem to have too many players behind the ball when defending which leads to people not taking responsibility. The goal came from sow not tracking an under lap and centre halves dragged towards the ball. The diakarby chance was startling - 4 against 2 and no one busting a gut to get back. There were absolutely no patterns of attacking play other than trying to pass wide and then switch very slowly to the other flank- easy to defend. I think we need to trust defenders to defend more - 1-1 rather than constantly overmanning the defensive third. Easy I m not saying that I was happy with we had last season, that was my opinion, what I am saying is , what it was perceived by many ... especially during the January transfer window. If a big overhaul of playing personnel really happened, then it means that it wasnt just my perception that the squad wasnt good enough nd our position last year was a false one. Hope I cleared he above. If we are going to set up to hit teams on the break we need to move the ball forward much quicker. I am a big fan of Jack Colback but we are missing Ben Watson in his ability to transition defence into to attack. He was much better it. The alternative is to be more of a possession based team and if doing that we need cuter players higher up the pitch. Surely if we have got Colback and Arter as a solid base we can afford to play Jao and Freeman further forward. Yeah I get you, I think you were right last season rather than now. We were lucky last year, we had some good players but some very average ones. We've done excellent business and now have a squad on paper that looks capable of autos. Just might take a while to gel, need to be patient and hopefully we'll go on a run at some point, whoever the manager is RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - Sabricadabra - 27-09-2020 (26-09-2020, 09:28 AM)JWJW Wrote: I was actually happier with the performance, given the amount of new faces. Plus they should have been down to ten men for most of the match. I agree, it was an encouraging performance. Especially the two centre backs. RE: Huddersfield - Nottingham Forest - Paplane - 28-09-2020 I agree we're not getting the rub of the green at the moment. Sammy's chance goes in and we cruise the game. We just need a bit of luck and our season will be up and running. |
