Sniffer, I hear what you say but I see no press, rumours or even mention of a new CEO from Barnsley's end? Small snippets in the EP who as we all know take most their stories from forums sites like ours. If the great Dane had indeed left at the end of June you would think that his name & involvement in the club would have been removed by now. I am thinking that making the move to Forest is more difficult then we might have all imagined, are the two clubs haggling contractually behind the scenes?

How often does the housing company's website get updated?

They have ioannis still with us

Murphy still at barnsley

Just wondering if they update it often?

Barnsley website still has him down working there too, after he was removed end of june to be put back up next day

Really hope he does join this week

I wondered that myself, it depends when you send the relevant info to them to have them struck off as directors etc

Look how out of date the Forest website is with regards to players and staff, go check it out.

Also, I am still not sure Forest are going to make a big thing of it, the club have been denying Dane has been coming for weeks, so wouldnt be surprised if it doesnt get announced, which would be quite frustrating as Murphy regularly communicated with Barnsley Supporters (unlike our current CEO).

Perhaps we've pinched the Barnsley tech/pr guy as well and that's why they haven't updated the website  :D

Interesting article on Athletic with regards to potential improvements that Murphy wants to make, including a new identity for the club, remould the recruitment etc (something you know i have been banging on since the Greeks arrived, and Fawaz and Doughty before them)

If he does join, then I am intrigued to see what the synergy will be between Hughton, I am not sure he is the right manager for us (I am certainly not a lover of his football identity), whilst Murphy may have a different identity in mind (as may the owner), so let’s see how that works out.

Appointing Murphy, seems all incredibly positive till you read that - The Athletic understands Murphy is going into the role believing he will be in charge of the day-to-day running of the club. But, whether that proves to be the case or not, he will still need to forge a positive relationship with the man who bankrolls Forest from Athens.

We have seen Chief exs, come in and go, as the job wasn’t as advertised, it would be crazy to think he isn’t given free rein to do it his way. I agree a better board structure, a far better transfer strategy, a better “identity” on and off the pitch and improve on communication.

I realise how good Murphy is at communicating with the fans, and this is something we seriously lack. I mean we haven’t heard from the CEO in all the years he has been here.

It is horrible to think he will have his hands tied, a puppet on show with strings stretching to Athens (isn’t that Randall’s job?). I totally agree he needs to have a great relationship. The owner is a winner, he likes winners, therefore if Murphy delivers then he will be happy. It's just so strange how he back Vrentezos has he clearly hasn’t been a winner for the club.

Still not sure why Forest do not want to make a big announcement out bringing in the likes of these key people, you only have to look at how out of date the Forest website is with regards to players and staff etc, perhaps they need to appoint someone to get on top of that.

The only communication we get is when it comes to selling season tickets (like General sale today) or introducing new sponsors and brilliant videos on Home kit launch. I understand the away kit is being launched today to some fanfare, yet other than that (and the chairman’s orchestrated Q&A) we never hear anything. We don’t know the aims of the owner, expectations, so we don’t know how to manage ours.

Finally, we have been guilty of “short-termism” so leaving things late with getting everything in place during the close season and no arrivals yet, means we might be forced to do just that again to that to bring in players as we get closer and closer to the season, I mean how many players have we missed out on, or our targets still available?

It is another interesting summer, and hopefully the start of a new dawn. As always, the proof is in the pudding, and whilst I am not pushing them to be serious about promotion, I want them to be sincere about it.

Hopefully the fact that Marinakis is willing to appoint a CEO who likes to shape a club means he'll allow him the free rein to do it.

Well apparently Murphy has been removed as a director of Barnsley at Companies House now.

Seriously great work Joe, thanks.

I sincerely hope the new CEO will sort out the club shop and online store. It is pathetic!

I have just been on to look for a new tie to wear to my daughters graduation in November (she is a Forest fan too) and there isn't a single item on there, nor cufflinks or tie bars like they used to sell.

Unless you want to buy a replica kit, training kit or training accessories, then there is nothing else worth bothering about.

I have been unhappy with the clubs merchandise choices for many years now and it has just got worse and worse. I was optimistic when the club appointed the marketing guy, just after EM took over the reins, but I haven't seen any improvement in terms of marketing or sales from when Fawaz took over TBH. I sincerely hope this now improves
