Then was able to change in the 2nd for a more spirited display and a goal that on another day would have stuck.
Must say, when he took MGW off, the spirited attacking play pretty much ended.

That said, we were more combative and won more aerially in midfield which lead to Taiwo chances.

I think Taiwo's chances were more down more to his, strength, desire and determination than anything else.
Would be great if MGW could have more time on the pitch with him, maybe he could thread him through.

Interesting that this is from a John Percy article:

There were similar issues here when Ange left as it was felt that the players hadn’t been properly prepared by Nuno pre-season and then couldn’t maintain the levels of press that Ange wanted.

There is a theme isnt there
Ange said players werent fit under Nuno
Dyche said players werent fit under Ange
Edwards said players werent fit under Pereira

Sounds like standard new manager excuse to buy some time. Maybe the answer is to get them to run more in training??

Cheap excuses.

Well the comments from MGW after Ange left suggested that it was identified that fitness was an issue, hence the running memes

Pereira made a point of going through the starting team one by one and praising them in his post match interview. His man management already is far better than Dyche, who was publicly digging them out (which he’s now doubled down on with recent podcast appearances). If VP can get a positive atmosphere in the squad then he’s already going to have more of a chance than Ange or Dyche

Yes Vitor seems to have everyone united and singing from the same hymn sheet.

Compare last night with the shenanigans at Wrexham for example.

The likes of Ndoye, McAtee and Bakwa just need an arm around them.
Dyche isn’t that manager.
Not every player responds to the stick

We left it one month too late getting rid of Dyche. Ideally we shouldn’t have appointed him.

Well done Vitor, monkey off your back now, superb platform to build on, great confidence boost.

RE: Vitor Pereira - Our Manager - McDurban - 22-03-2026

He has shown some astute tactical nous.
Has go to know the players, very quickly. Got a handle on them all.
He's very likeable too.

He feels like an excellent fit with Marinakis. Passionate and high energy, seems like an upgrade on Dyche based on this first month of work.
