RE: Dyche In/Out - ozzyten10 - 05-02-2026 I’ve watched arsenal a few times this season and their football is a better version of ours. Newcastle - very similar - and dare I say not as defensively sound recently. The football in the prem this season has become all about physicality set pieces and percentages. There are no free flowing football sides. There is a gnats whisker in so many games. The Everton at home game for me sums up the season- beaten by a dogged away performance that in another day gets nothing. We did exactly the same to high flying Brentford. But I 100% believe we have to stick with Dyche even if the gap narrows, or worse still, we return back to the bottom 3 for a period. RE: Dyche In/Out - Cornish forest - 05-02-2026 The other issue is of course Dyche can do nothing about how well other teams do. If West Ham and Leeds both have a good run from now until the end of the season, that could relegate us even if Dyche maintains our current ppg form. RE: Dyche In/Out - Sausage Roll - 05-02-2026 Dyche is one of the nominations for Manager of the Month for January. Another way of looking at it as well is that whilst we have been apparently playing dycheball and dinosaur football, teams like Leeds who have been lauded and who have in some people’s eyes been doing really well, aren’t actually really any better off. RE: Dyche In/Out - ozzyten10 - 05-02-2026 Dyche Manager of the month nominee. :) RE: Dyche In/Out - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 05-02-2026 (05-02-2026, 02:51 PM)ozzyten10 Wrote: Dyche Manager of the month nominee. :) Lost to Villa, lost to Wrexham and lost to Braga. How does that work? As most know im not Dyche biggest fan but let's be balanced. The best performance amongst them was against Arsenal which was a backs to the wall 0.0 draw. It was nice to get the two victories but we hardly dominated either game. Two hard earned victories a draw at home and a dismal defeat. The premier league must have been pretty dire viewing on Sky in January if our manager is nominated manager of the month. Sanctimonious ToryTom doesn’t care if our performances are dismal for the rest of the season so long as we pick up enough points to stay up. I buy into the pragmatic approach but over time it doesn’t work like that. Eventually points per game tracks performance and i still contend that performances under Dyche have been poor more often than not. It isn’t for no reason only Wolves have scored fewer goals. |
