RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 23-02-2025 The difference in our results and performances when we play top half teams vs bottom half is really quite remarkable. Well I think it's clear that our ultra low block approach is well amd truly dead in the water. We need to play on the front foot more like we did in the 2nd half. Agreed, lets hope Nuno thinks so. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - ozzyten10 - 23-02-2025 Our home form is pretty good - let’s hope that continues next two… RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Spangles - 23-02-2025 (23-02-2025, 05:32 PM)The reds Wrote: 3 minutes by the way. That’s shocking. Should’ve been at least 5. (23-02-2025, 05:39 PM)pennhillred Wrote: Thought the officials were rubbish. Funny how they found 10 minutes when we were clinging on for dear life against Southampton. Lol what are you talking about? Their second and fourth goals were them hitting us on the break. We just fell apart for 15 minutes. Don't think just because we peppered them for 25 mins we need to be 2008 Spain. They were comfortably in the lead and playing differently. Like when Southampton battered us at the end of our home game. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 23-02-2025 Im a huge fan of Yates but to say him coming back in, shouting a bit and putting himself about will solve our current problems is too simplistic. We seem to go through periods where we suffer a collective headloss at the moment. Gone back to looking brittle at set pieces too, that thing of not marking the back post has annoyed me all season even when we were getting away with it. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Chicago - 23-02-2025 We were blown away in the first half as Willock and Isak running at us completely had us off balance. Aina had a mare in the first and was most excellent in the second. I wonder if he had a rocket. Yatesy coming in the second riled up Bruno which is always a bonus. Too little too late really but I am guessing being pushed in the back in the box when you are about to head the ball is fair game in the prem. I am thinking high press against Pope and the defenders would have yielded better results. Having said that our goal difference is amazingly still better than the Geordies. Massive game on Wednesday. Chicago: Hanging in there. It's what was sadly missed in a game like this. As we said before look at the opposition fans thread at the hate for Yates Speaks volumes RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 23-02-2025 Yes I agree about Yates but saying there was more to it aswell. However its a fair question if we suffer that type of first hald collapse with him on the pitch. Aina poor but maybe he wasn’t given enough support, Dominguez being dragged out of position to protect him left holes. Would have preferred us to match their shape in midfield. The corner routine annoys me because you could be a football coach at a primary school and see that every week we leave loads of room at the far post and Newcastle put the ball there every time. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 23-02-2025 Seen that substitutes and time after goals (excluding the mandatory 30secs) we should have had over 4.5 mins added time 2nd half. Thats without any other stoppages at all. Guaranteed should we be a goal up against Arsenal on 90mins they will add on double figures. |
