Suspect you misunderstood me Sal.
Wasn’t having a pop - we have no replacement for Freeman in the same way that Grabbs had no understudy last season.

Ah, Ok.

Its true though, if we play 4231 then we have 5 options for the 2 DCM slots with apparently Cafu on the way for No.6
For the 3 forward midfield slots we also have 5 options, Freeman, Lolley, Ameobi, Mighten and DaCosta of which one is struggling for fitness, one is a kid and one is ...err... not very good. Not convinced where the goals are coming from.

Wait are you suggesting we should sign more players?!  :P

HaHa yes 35 not enough, lets have 40!

Seriously though the squad looks desperately unbalanced to me.

Seriously - when was the last time we played 4231? We played all last year 433 or 4141.

RE: 2020/21 Season: Could We See A Change In Playing Style? - Salvatore Matrecano - 29-09-2020

Ok disregarding the last game which looked a panicked line up, against Cardiff we played
Yates, Colback, Lolley Freeman, Ameobi in midfield, with Grabban up front.
If that isnt 4231 I dont know what is.

But much like when silva played last year it is more 433. No one plays close enough to grabban to be a number 10- never have have under Sabri.

And that only lasted 25 minutes when he dragged lolley off. We then went to 442.

We played our best football last season as a 4141 with Watson behind Sow and Silva. Sow seems to have dropped deeper now which doesnt suit him really, he just runs around fouling the opposition at the moment.
I get what you are saying about 433 and the gap between the midfield and the forward players, it is ludicrous at times.
