For Mr Marinakis I reckon it is the be all and end all.
I think you're probably right but for me he also needs to realise the club doesn't have the infrastructure of a Premier League club yet and it isn't something you can just do on the fly, it requires proper planning by proper football people; recruitment needs addressing, so do the facilities, coaching staff, strength and conditioning staff etc. we're still a long way behind most clubs in this division and these details count for a lot at the top level, simply replacing the manager with someone you deem to be more "elite" means very little if you don't have that other stuff sorted. Marinakis has rightly been praised for the financial backing but his money would go so much further if and when these issues are sorted out.

However if we want to have a proper PL infrastructure then we need to be in the PL to achieve that which is why staying up is so important. Too many seem happy to go down as long as Steve stays in charge, that to me at least is just not right and is a losers/failure mentality. What is the priority here? To go down and keep Steve in charge or to stay in the PL and improve our infrastructure and facilities etc.
Interesting that you mention the coaching staff, Presume you include Cooper in that? Our coach also selects his own staff, assistant coach and his fitness coach and his conditioning coaches etc. So many of the current staff used to be with Cooper at Swansea, not sure if they are really any good at their jobs or whether it's a bit of the old pals act.

Some very valid and interesting points above.
Firstly worth saying the current infrastructure in terms of staffing is miles ahead of where it was under the previous owner. Its just that now we are Premier League astandards have to be at the highest level throughout.
As far as the old pals act goes I think its only Alan Tate that Cooper brought with him from Swansea. He may also know Danny Alcock, lead goalkeeping coach from his days working with England youth set up.
Whether someone like Alcock is good enough I have no idea, he may well be although I suspect Keylor may be used to working with world cup winners rather than the former goalkeeper at Stafford Rangers. Thats a bit mean though, he could well be excellent.
Cooper’s support team though I am certain is too weak. Leeds rumoured to be bringing in Tony Pulis as Allardyce No2. Whilst the style of football those 2 will serve up may make you weep they both know what a dogfight is. Its a know how that is sorely lacking here and I hope we correct that in the summer.
Finally fitness, physio and medical teams. Again we don’t know how good they are at their jobs but the amount of soft tissue injuries we are picking up seems extreme. I hope at very least Ross Wilson’s job as Director of football is to conduct a review and see if this department needs overhauling.

Jamie Robinson (coach) - Worked with Cooper at FA.
Dave Tivey (Performance coach) - Worked with Cooper at Swansea.
Stephen Rands (Head of Analysis) - Worked with Cooper at Swansea.
Dan Morris (Head of Data Insights) - Worked with Cooper at Swansea.
Add Tate and Alcock to the above and that makes 6 of our current staff who Cooper dragged along with him.
Whether they are PL standard or not is another story.

I disagree about needing to be in the PL to have the infrastructure, obviously the extra money helps but I think we could've started to put that stuff into place before going up, but anyway now we've been up and seen what is required... if/when we do go down it isn't some abject failure which means we need to tear everything up and start again, it's a lesson and we can grow as a club from it. Having somebody like Cooper who is adored by the supporters, gets the club and gets the city and perhaps most importantly is learning what it takes to be Premier League alongside the club, a manager with those qualities is a rarity (again something we haven't seen for decades here) so keep him as part of this learning process, he's a popular figure and a good coach who will keep improving.
In terms of coaching I'd like to see Coops add a couple of new faces to his staff, I don't think he has enough as is and adding a couple of coaches who have coached in the Premier League before could've helped with the learning process, obviously it's up to him what he does but I'd hope that Ross Wilson gently recommends a bit of a change up in that dept.
That brings me onto the football people... Wilson might be a great addition, yet to be seen, but I'd also like to see us maybe get some footballing people at board level too, how many Premier League clubs board of directors has a film maker (who doesn't even support the club) as one of only four directors? I'd like to see some people who know the modern game and who know Forest on the board. Finally, we haven't got a new CEO yet and it's been 4 months since Dane left, surely he should've been officially replaced by now? Is it Charnley? Is it Vrentzos again?

If we are finger pointing at the above worth noting there are a disproportionate number of staff who are former employees of Olympiacos.
Thats why I hope Wilson’s job is to review all footballing and attached staff to see of they are of the required standard. If not and that leads to some uncomfortable questions for both the head coach or the owner then so be it. I hope Wilson is up to the job and that he will be allowed to do it properly.

Hats off to Psychostooge for adding to that with some good and valid points.
I am the first to admit that EM is not perfect and he needs to do better in certain areas. He will admit that himself and try to improve wherever he can.
