And both Lolley & Freeman can add width.

Anyway there is no way Sabri will listen to me.

Thank God for that TPL  :)

Yes, Christie is more of a wing back than a full back.

Ribeiro too imo.

To the original question of the thread, it seems some quotes from Lamouchi in an interview with Tails in the athletic may provide the answer:

“It will be a different approach. The approach last season was to play on the transition, to be very compact and defensive. We made some amazing performances with that,” said Lamouchi. “But if we want to be up there, we need to be more consistent and we need to have more quality. That is it.

“In many games, we had the opportunity to finish the opposition off before the final whistle. We need to change the mentality on this. How do we do that? We do it with quality players. That is always the key. Who can make the difference? Quality players can do that. Quality players can be a little bit expensive. But the club have made a big effort and now we should be focussed on this."

So despite that starting off by saying it will be a different approach, through the quirks of his English I read it as saying we need to be better at what we did last year, converting 1-0s into 2-0s, and we do that by having better players. So no fundamental change in style?

When I saw us with Colback, Sow and Arter I wondered if it might be 4-3-3. Liverpool’s midfield 3 don’t exactly make the mouth water with creativity after all. But we seemed to have Ameobi and Freedman wide and a bit of same old same old, in which case why wouldn’t Freeman have played in the advanced midfield role?

Not an obvious thread for this?

Always pleased to see Forest players gain international honours - but disappointed that both Arter & McKenna are going to be away from Nottingham for the forthcoming international break. An opportunity missed to bed key players into the team at a vital time.

OK then scenario.

Freeman gets injured. Carvalho is gone, Johnson is gone, Silva is going.
Who plays ACM/ No.10 role?

Dont say Lolley because he is wasted there when he has done it before. Or do we just play 4 defensive mids to hoof it 40 yards forward to Grabban?

Freeman is our new Grabban.

Words fail me.

Eh? Im not having a go at Freeman. Im asking who else we have who can play that roll and pick a pass in midfield?

Ameobi lolley...

Both wingers.

Assuming the preferred formation remains 4231 then there is someone in the middle. Who?

oh dear, this is more than a scenario, it's virtual reality but not in an exciting fantasy way, but as in virtually a reality
