RE: Brighton - Nottingham Forest - Plymouth red - 10-03-2024 Poor refereeing aside, we are our own worst enemy and are now going down the 'woe is me' route which will end with relegation. It felt from the first minute that the side were feeling sorry for themselves and their statements in the media after that simply reinforce my fear. Yes refereeing has hurt us but in both games, they are not the things that caused us to concede or caused us to be crap at defending set pieces. They are not the things that meant we created very little. Reality is, we as a fan base and as a club have got to stop playing victim and start using it to motivate our survival. Essentially those post match interviews were the equivalent of a moody teenager blaming the teachers for their rubbish exam results. Ican guarantee it'll get absolutely zero attention on motd tonight, or it'll get laughed off. Liverpool didn't get a second pen late on today so that will be the only thing we hear about. Too many don’t have a consequence if we go down as they will all f**k off. MGW to his credit does have the fight but he is visibly getting frustrated with his team mates. I think half the team has eyes on their next move. You keep saying this no one is saying we lose BECAUSE of the ref. But what we are saying is if the right decision is made we have 35 minutes against 10 men. Then who knows what happens? You seem to always take the side of the opposition/ref or whatever. If you don't see what they are moaning for I can't help you. Yes 35 minutes against 10 men who would have gone in to low block mode and wasting time from that moment onwards exactly as they saw out the last few mins. We barely laid a glove on them throughout the match, I would say its unlikely it would have affected the result. We played with them down to 10 men back in November and lost then too. Yep, nothing is certain but if its correct and its 9 against us now then youve got to be looking at at least 3 points lost, and thats being generous. We'd be 6 points ahead of Luton and then the mindset around next week's game is completely different. These poor decisions are definately affecting our season now. This is the 9th game is a row we have had these crazy decisions, we are our own worst enemies yes, but like Morgan said earlier this is beyond a joke now. I agree Salv but we were still wronged, again, and it needs calling out because as MGW said today, its ridiculous. For a premier league manager to go on tv and suggest something's going on is simply incredible. This is not woe is me type complaining, its calling out a definate trend. RE: Brighton - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 10-03-2024 Im not for a second defending the referee and the collective decisions. But this time in my opinion it probably didn’t affect the result. Last weekend it definitely did. Just my opinion, we will never know what would have happened in either circumstance. We are also naturally blinkered, in all of these games we have had decisions go in our favour too, we just seem to be getting the really bad ones. As said above Omo probably should have had 2 yellows today. Then we would have had the whole 2nd half with 10 men a probably got a good hammering. What worries me is the team and manager seem to be adopting the victim viewpoint which I think is dangerous. |
