I understand where you are coming from,  if it was a deliberate hand ball after the goal the ball was dead? if it was a deliberate handball before the goal then the red card should have stood and a penalty given as it was, he handled it after the goal so no red and surely not a yellow.

There's no issue with the ball "being dead" as far as cauttons are concerned. Players can be booked or sent off if they commit an offence even before the game has started which is rare but, more commonly after the final whistle. He was cautioned for gaining an advantage(or trying to) by deliberately handling the ball. Of course goaline technology helped him out.

unsporting behaviour, a goal had been scored and deliberately tried to conceal the fact. he tried to cheat and got caught. also I assume the refs whistle had not been blown yet, so technically all is in play.

IMO a red card would have been the correct decision if the ball was deemed not to have crossed the line, but seeing as it did, he should not have been booked. Not that it makes any difference either way of course!
