On the back of Username's post on another thread, just read Tails article on Cooper' two year anniversary. It's crazy that it's only been two years, feels like about 10!
Last year was an emotional rollercoaster, the article got me emotional thinking about that Brighton win, the incredible stress of watching that Southampton game, the surprise of beating Arsenal.
One slightly smaller moment sums it up for me, I remember after the Leicester game and TalkSport were reporting Cooper was gone and just how upset I was waiting for the news to come through. Then the sheer shock and delight when he instead signed a new contract, which is a pretty baffling turnaround when you think back to it. I literally went on the ticket site and bought a ticket (sadly no longer a ST holder) that day on my own, just to go and show my support for Cooper, didn't really care if we won.
I said at the start of the season, if Cooper manages to get through a whole season that will be success for me. The same applies again this year too.

Seen a couple of posts on Twitter from people who received phone calls from Steve Cooper today in response to letters they'd sent him. That's a pretty impressive thing to have done - I doubt many Premier League managers would do the same.

Whilst keeping things in perspective I think it's fair game to ask one or two questions of the managers decisions yesterday.
Luton brought on Barkley and Townsend to give them more of an attacking threat from midfield and going forward and Steve counters that by taking off Sangare, Dominguez and Boly? I think it's fair and reasonable to question that decision.
I am not buying this jet lag bullshit, there was only 12 minutes to go for ffs not 40 minutes.
EM absolutely fuming and with good reason in my opinion.
And lets keep it real and in perspective before some one replies with a 'yeah lets sack the manager comment'.

I'm still really annoyed and normally after having slept on things I'm a bit better. Lots of people are saying with hindsight the subs were bad. I didn't see the game so I can't comment on that. But I did raise my eyebrow when we scored that we immediately made three subs to key players and coopers comments irritate further.
I assume if we had stayed at 1-0, jetlag would not have been a problem and likewise, were we leading 3-0 at half time, jet lag would have been felt earlier.
It was a complacent and rather arrogant disregard of the opposition that led to subs. We thought the game was won. That's why the three subs happened and any else is bullshit. Is messed up our flow and gave them a quick response. Once it goes 2-1, the rest felt inevitable

I think there was a touch of arrogance too plus a bit of let me keep my old mates happy by giving them a bit of game time.
The three points is what matters not getting a few minutes in the legs of your old buddies.
On another note Santos and Vlachodemos are totally brassed off and losing patience quickly.

Who are the old buddies?
Why should Santos get on the pitch? If he had done so you would have said Cooper fault for not bringing on experience to see the game out.
Why drop Turner? What has he done wrong?
If those 2 are brassed off then try harder to get in the team.

That’s ridiculous Pap.
I agree he makes mistakes and have said so. Bringing off both central defenders at the same time changed the game, that is there for all to see. Just saying that not sure what the alternative was and questioning why some think Santos would have been a better idea than Yates who apparently we couldn’t get a point without last season and Kouyate with over 250 PL games to his name.

Yes it gets a tad annoying that things can't be kept real and in perspective sometimes, there always seems to be an over exaggerated reply to the slightest bit of criticism of the manager.
Personally I think Steve is currently underachieving with the squad that he has at his disposal.

The reason we defend him is for the exact reason in your last sentence. I do not believe he is underachieving with the squad he has at his disposal. I don't think our squad is that great at this moment, it has a lot of potential but as Chelsea will tell you potential doesn't win games.
Plus we're missing Taiwo, Danilo, Felipe, Aina, Tavares, Montiel. At least four starters there and it means our bench is weak. Yet for some reason that isn't taken into consideration, why is that? Yet Palace are described as depleted when we play them with a similar injury list.
