Reminds me of our long unbeaten run under Frank Clark- I think it was something like 23 games. Then we got a complete tonking at Blackburn and never really got going after that.
I was always very worried by this run of fixtures and this is why. When we lose we tend to lose big which in itself is a problem. Bournemouth demonstrated that they could be a real threat over the coming weeks. They just seemed so much more aggressive and up for it. They've thrashed both ourselves and Newcastle- the two form sides this last few months. Would not be surprised if their manager is not going to be linked to some big clubs soon enough.
This will be a big test but this team has bounced back before. So let's see.

I agree. I would have even taken a loss but 5. And what's worrying is that we probably deserved it. They absolutely owned us in that last half hour - a bit worrying how much we capitulated. You do wonder whether all this talk of champions league and Europe could be having an impact on nerves.
Let's just hope it's an off day and we can get going again next week. But it's going to feel like a long week

I think Bournemouth are showing what the yo-yoing and then establishing yourself and building up can do. All we’ve done is cut out the yo-yoing and are in the establishing stage but have some how been over achieving it’s testament to the players but maybe they’re starting to lag? This would be milenkovics first season without a winter break, I assume jota is the same and the Argentinian league is completely different schedule to ours.
Hopefully everyone sleeps tonight and then are in tomorrow for a debrief and a rewatch of the game and just constructive criticism of the faults etc and then back in Monday to start the hard work towards the next game

It is all about how we react now.
Brighton is a massive game.
We were always going to lose a game at some point (although 5-0 and that performance is totally unacceptable).
We simply have to get back on the horse straight away.
Lets not forget that it's these players and Nuno who have got us to where we are now and it is no fluke.
Reset and get back on the horse ASAP. Hopefully next week against Brighton.

Firstly a disclaimer: First game I've not been at for years , had to watch it in France on TV. At least I didn't have to travel back from South Coast on back of a hammering.
Secondly, we are 3rd and whilst the performance was rubbish, some of the online over-reaction is frankly ludicrous. Digging out individuals questioning their commitment and if heads have been turned is something I'd expect from Scousers on the back of one and a half poor games. I totally get the emotional side of it for those of you who travelled and have that sh1tty journey home, but for rest of us I have one word: perspective.
We win as a team and we lose as a team. We have a fantastic manager who will look at how we get back to winning ways ASAP. A fantastic owner who will back our continued progression.
Before anyone shoots me down with the "constructive criticism" card, read some of the comments again.
For me having not missed a game until yesterday the last 5 months have been right up there with some of the great seasons of yesteryear so as far as I'm concerned (and it may be just me) the lads can have a free pass as I am confident they will regroup and go again. If not, then I'll get behind them and probably let loose with constructive criticism on here.
My lucky trainers and jumper will also be back in the equation...
