I think Worrall had a decent game. The sustained pressure finally told in the 2nd half. They played most of the game on the edge of the box. A stronger midfield pairing would relieve the amount of sustained attack they came under. I acknowledge that it's polite and not a particularly aggressive criticism however suggesting you think he's not going to be 1st choice is 100% writing him off, or at the very least the start of writing him off. Suggesting the star player is not going to be 1st choice, is a big statement. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Plymouth red - 08-08-2022 So we lose to Newcastle and every signing we made is shite and all our players from last season aren't good enough. God knows what the reaction will be if we beat West ham. I know what you are getting at PR but if players can only be either brilliant or shite then this forum isnt for you, stick to Twitter. We are discussing what we have seen. Believe it or not Brennan isnt the best player in the world, Worrall has off days, not all our new signings will tear up the PL, some may well prove not to be good enough which happens every year with every club. None of that means they are all shite. Pretty sure he was saying that people are writing everyone off way too early. Someone above said "Worrall is not good enough for the prem, simple as that". Where's the discussion there?! RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 08-08-2022 Fair enough Wassy sorry for taking the bait, as long as it’s a reasoned argument then opinions are fine. As for Worrall it’s pretty clear he would have got a PL move had we not been promoted all be it not to one of the bigger clubs so let’s all give him a chance. I see he was on twitter this morning, he certainly acts and talks like a true captain. Attitude can take you a long way in the game, just ask Wes Morgan RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 08-08-2022 (08-08-2022, 11:35 AM)Plymouth red Wrote: So we lose to Newcastle and every signing we made is shite and all our players from last season aren't good enough. Nobody said that lets keep it real. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 08-08-2022 We had a disappointing performance on Saturday at Newcastle and all we are doing is discussing it. We are allowed to do that, there is nothing wrong with it. I think my point is that I'm reading huge over reactions to the first game back in the premier for the first time in 23 years from some. No one should be satisfied with this performance but I find it incredible that some people are suggesting either our new players or existing plaers are not good enough. Impossible to say at this stage. Apologies for the hyperbole but feel some need perspective of where we are and what we are. We should accept that there is still much to do and we need to acclimatise. People reading way to much into things. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - jason - 08-08-2022 my point in my post is we had four players that are just not good enough for the PL , one player ok but four , we going to loose no matter who it is in we play in the PL , the bench was a championship bench no where near good enough for the PL . Look at the next few matches we don't have the time to mess around if we pay out millions for a player put him in the starting line up not on the bench and pick championship players over them. Two of those are due to injury and are backups tbf to the team. There are 37 games not 3 in a season FYI. I firmly believe Worrall is good enough for the PL and I could not disagree with you more on that one. What are you basing he's not good enough on? If we'd not gone up he'd likely have moved to the prem anyway. He may not be rapid but you don't need speed to be a good CB necessarily. I do actually agree on Taiwo, Surridge wasn't first choice last year. Arguably been quite unlucky that we went up as he would've been the focal point of the attack in the championship, whereas he likely won't get much gametime this year in comparison. However if Cooper thinks Taiwo isn't good enough I hope we're still in the market for a new striker. |
