If a player is unable to take his place in his club teams squad in the previous game before going on international duty because of an injury then the club have every right to withdraw him from international duty.
We even did it with Johnno and he actually played in our last game!
Man City did it with Haaland too this week. It happens all the time it is nothing unusual.
Well the fact we let Wood travel suggests his injury was not an issue when he travelled then surely otherwise we'd have done the same.
I don't understand why you're looking to blame someone, it's bad luck that he aggravated the injury. We've no idea whether it was the same injury, or whether had he stayed in the UK he would've had the same result.
If it was pre-existing and then he shouldn't have gone obviously which would be on the medical team.

I think you're both right. I believe the international team have the right to examine the player if he's declared injured. But we didn't want Brennan to play and he didn't, despite Wales having a strop about it. Their reaction suggests that they thought he could've played.
But New Zealand is a long way to go for a medical assessment.

It's just wild speculation without the facts, I tend to trust medical professionals and assume they felt he was safe to travel at that point (whereas Brennan was not). However, if someone made a mistake it is on them as opposed to anyone else at the club.

I just think sometimes the answer's right in front of you. Was it a good idea for Wood to travel all the way to New Zealand to play two games when he'd missed the last game due to injury? You don't need to be a medical professional to know that the answer is no.

Bailey did his hamstring and Villa hooked him off straight away, immediately, no questions asked.
Kouyate did his hamstring and we push him back on again to aggravate it and f**k it up even more.
Niakhate did his hamstring and he plays on and we fail to hook him off straight away so he aggravates and f***s it up even more.
