RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Madforit - 17-10-2022 (17-10-2022, 03:44 PM)nffc93 Wrote: Sounds like folk want Big Sam Anyone but him RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - JWJW - 18-10-2022 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/oct/17/steve-cooper-battling-to-find-stability-at-turbulent-nottingham-forest ..........Cooper maintained throughout the summer that the level of recruitment was necessary to create a squad capable of staying in the Premier League. He was the man who decided trying to re-sign Djed Spence was not worthwhile, so the club gave him Neco Williams, and Cooper rejected the idea of bringing back James Garner and Philip Zinckernagel, despite the suggestion greater continuity would be helpful................... RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 18-10-2022 Sounds to me like someone within is assembling a case against Cooper. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Salvatore Matrecano - 18-10-2022 Thats the other way to look at it Pap, maybe, there was the report a few weeks ago that “Cooper cant work with big name signings” However as I said on the other thread in the interest of balance it’s dangerous to pick and choose which bits of different articles you like and dont like. There are some uncomfortable truths at this club at the moment. I hear what you are saying there Pap but I think results and performances are already a case. I know Sniff but the ground still needs preparing for the sacking of a fan favourite like Cooper. And if they do sack him presumably the line will be we gave him every opportunity and support in trying to turn things around, even a new contract, but we couldn't go on losing games. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-10-2022 Yes you have probably nailed it there. Yep feels that way, they decided it was too toxic to sack him before so will brief against him for a bit first to try and turn the club against him. What a healthy way to run a football club... Fwiw, no idea if this is true but I thought Cooper was only Head Coach? Would he have had that strong a say on recruitment? And if he did should he? You see that's what we as fans never get to know. Who's responsible for what? All we do is make broad assumptions and deal with everything as though it's black and white. Eg Murphy's a hero, Cooper's a saint. Miltiadis is a bad interference, the sacked scout guy a genius, Giraldi's a stooge. I suppose that's why insiders in the club gets these messages out there. He is head coach and he is part of the recruitment team. As for who was in charge there is a clue in the title - Head of Recruitment George Syrianos. In other words Cooper is/was part of a recruitment team that was headed by Syrianos. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - ozzyten10 - 18-10-2022 I suppose it’s about structure and accountability. We have now a sporting director who I presume would have to sign off on whatever signing is identified. The head coach will be accountable to the sporting director. The sporting director will be accountable to the board. If relationships are strong in this structure then it can work- a case being in point arsenal - Edu backed his manager - coach over poor results, players he wanted out, and new players he wanted in. It has worked having been given the precious commodity of time. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 30-10-2022 It's happening lads... ![]() :fishing: |
