RE: Injuries And Suspensions - wassy04 - 21-03-2023 (21-03-2023, 09:32 AM)JollyLolly Wrote: Looks like SC is not the strong manager I thought he was, nice bloke but a bit soft on players? I am sure that any of the top managers would NOT allow a potential key player who has been out injured for some time and has yet to return to full 1st team training to go aboard and train with his international team mates. If I recall, was the original injury a result of the lapse medical team during the world cup? Very strange from Forest and if he comes back again injured then there are going to be a large amount of very annoyed supporters. This is not even slightly the same situation as Kouyate is not injured. If he wanted to go and train with Senegal and support his teammates, it feels like that's his choice as a player. He is going to be training regardless, perhaps the club believes it better that they support his choices. Aside from the potential long flight I really don't see any issues here. So you don't think it would be more beneficial to Nottingham Forest Football Club (who pay his wages by the way) to be training with his teammates in preparation for our massively important games coming up against Wolves and Leeds? Probably wouldn't be my preferred choice but it doesn't seem a big deal either. The bigger issue is why this is anything to do with Cooper, this is Kouyate's choice. If you have to criticise someone, then it should be him. It is not Kouyate's choice because he was NOT called up by Senegal in the first place. He has obviously been given permission to go there or has he gone AWOL (I doubt it). Very strange from Forest and if he comes back again injured then there are going to be a large amount of very annoyed supporters. Of course it's his choice as no-one is making him go! He's obviously asked to go and been given permission. I'm sure he's not going against his will though! RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Fumanchew - 21-03-2023 I guess it shows that he wouldn’t be ready for wolves or Leeds? And that Cooper will be focussing hard on the players he will have available both in the starting midfield and those he can call on as subs? But I agree it seems he’s asked the question, which is strange but maybe he has because he knows what kind of training is going to be happening the next 2 weeks? RE: Injuries And Suspensions - JollyLolly - 21-03-2023 Wassy, I don't understand the point you are making here, Kouyate is employed by Forest therefore if not called-up to play for Senegal then he should be training and getting match-fit in Nottingham. Somebody at Forest has to give permission to be excused from this, if it was SC then it appears to most fans as potentially a poor decision nothing more or nothing less! The point I'm making is that Kouyate is an adult and has requested this (you'd presume). If the club as whole including medical staff, as they had to grant permission, have agreed this is acceptable then I would trust their judgement. I certainly wouldn't be using it as a stick to beat Cooper with. All he's done is agree to support others request. If you want to be annoyed at someone that is Kouyate who has made the decision to go. Personally I think it's a non issue regardless. RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 21-03-2023 Are we serious about staying in the PL? Or are we just playing at it? It's the most crucial part of the season and we let a player who we have badly missed fly half way around the world to join a squad of player's for training who he wasn't even called up for in the first place. We are talking about a player who got injured playing for Senegal and his injury was mistreated by Senegal which has forced him to miss more games than he should which has not been good for us in any way shape or form. Now we get that player just about back to fitness and ready to challenge again for a first team place to help us in our desperate battle against relegation and we give him permission to bugger off to Senegal. What next? Pictures on Twitter of Danilo and Scarpa on a beach in Brazil surrounded by Brazilian topless babes in g-strings? RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Salvatore Matrecano - 21-03-2023 Well those pictures would lighten the mood on here at least.
