But has Cooper says, we are going to need those players over the next few months. That back 4 has started games for us in the premier league. McKenna and Cook were the first choice centre back pairing until a few games ago. Players have got to believe we are going to get something from a game even when making mistakes. If they don’t we will just keep getting beaten like yesterday. The whole team were very mentally weak yesterday and we are going to need some of them players in the next couple of months.

I think its safe to say that the pairing Cook and McKenna doesn't work for whatever reason we are a lot tighter since Boly Worral took over. Maybe there is a role for them but not the same time.

Terrible defending and finishing is exactly why we deserved to lose, but I get what you're saying.
We created (and missed) so many clearcut chances.We gifted 3 goals. (Arguably all 4 but credit to J Yates for an emphatic finish).
Yes, maybe deserved was the wrong word! I do think there is a huge over reaction to the result. Talk about never playing again because of one bad game is ridiculous.

I think regarding one or two as harsh as it may seem. I think a change of scene might be what they need.

It was that second goal which killed us. Before Williams’s blind pass’ Jerry Yates had harried McKenna in giving a rushed bac pass to the keeper who made a poor clearance. It stemmed in the first place by a lack of pace in central defence. That has hurt us so many times this season

With back passes like Necos, headers like OBriens losing your man like Neco and marking at a set piece on edge of box as we did for 4th we could have had Usain Bolt and Linford Christie at their peak with footballing ability of Baresi and Maldini and we still concede those 4 chances. The fact they scored them and we didn't score ours was the issue yesterday not lack of pace.

You have to look at Cooper and team selection for me. We are kidding ourselves if we think the majority of that team are way above Championship level. Therefore it just takes on or two to be below par for us to be on the end of a tonking which is what happened.
Fewster isnt ready. Dennis, Surridge, Toffolo maybe even OBrien and Cook may have on their minds that they may be moving on. They start with good intentions but the team isnt gelled and focused a couple of mistakes and we are 2 down and theres no coming back.
Suspect Something not right with surridge or maybe he had one of those days, he is better than that.

Going against much of the general sentiment about this, I think this is exactly the result we needed at the start of a January window in the most important season for a generation.
Hear me out- PL survival is the absolute prize this year and as such, the FA cup is an unwanted distraction and brings unnecessary risk of injury to a squad that is still thin on quality in some vital areas.
Having seen how EM can react to results, I’ll bet this is just the stimulus for action we may have needed. Of course, Cooper will have been fuming at the result last night and will use it to apply the stick rather than the carrot to some he might not want, but this morning I’ll bet he’s also got a wry grin on his face whilst having a post mortem teams meeting with Athens that neatly gets steered towards January transfer needs.
It might not prompt EM to stump up the 40-65 million needed for Tammy Abraham, but there might just be a few extra quid for Cooper and his new pal Giraldi to unearth a couple of gems from somewhere.

Yeah agreed, not really the way you'd want to get there but I suspect it'll help us in the long run. Cooper knew what he was doing making 11 changes, will have known this was always a risk. I like that we have another cup game before Leicester too, a chance to reset, bring the first team back and restore confidence.
Ultimately you've got to look at rhe scheduling. Having the FA Cup game after 3 prem games in 8 days with another two games coming quickly. We had to make changes at some point, we were forced into this selection. MGW, Taiwo, Aurier slightly injured. Brennan, Freuler just back from WC and played every game. Possibly could've played the CBs and Mangala/Yates/Lodi but then they're gonna struggle to play another two 90 mins in the next 6 days.

We lost and Coops has had his say both in the dressing room and in the media (which is unlike him). He knows it wasn’t acceptable but that side should have had enough to beat Blackpool.
Lets see how we react in the next 3 or 4 games.
I hated standing through that yesterday being taunted by the donkey lashers in the corner but I’m not pressing the panic button yet.
SC knows it wasn’t good enough and (as many have said) we found out a bit about the squad yesterday.
Entitlement was a very apposite word to use.
I’m pissed off but it’s not the end of the world. Let’s calm the f down and hopefully expect to see a positive reaction this week.
