I hope this calms down when the actual season has got going and there's other things to talk about.

I'm at the point now where I don't give a toss what fans of other clubs think. Social Media isn't representative anyway and as long as EM is trying to do the best for the club then stuff everyone else.

Its not but anecdotally was out today and chatting to a few Spurs fans and they seemed to think it was our fault that Palace got kicked out.

Feels like that's the narrative, that everyone thinks its our fault. Which seems pretty unfair.

I think looking on places like ‘x’ etc we are getting the boot put in by fans of other clubs but did have a look on the comments on the bbc article yesterday and there seemed a much more balanced mix. Had the letter not been sent by us then I’m sure they’d be less people suggesting it's our fault but they’d still be some suggesting it just by the very nature of the fact we get bumped up to Europa in place of Palace.

Does anyone know whether Uefa were already investigating Palace’s potential MCO before we wrote the letter? Seen lots of people calling us snitches/saying we asked for them to be investigated.

I can't imagine for one second that UEFA wouldn't have been investigating it anyway. Paul Taylor in the Athletic reckons our letter was only seeking clarification rather than anything else though of course he'll have a Forest spin on things.

I'm sure deep down a lot of Palace fans are just annoyed at their own club but lashing out at a convenient scapegoat.
Yes I’m sure Uefa would have been. I can also see that we might have written to get clarification around the rules, process or timing in terms of Uefa’s investigation and what might happen as it impacts our business, budgets etc. but can also see that we could quite easily have also made a point of we did what we needed and palace didn’t.

I just hope all of these high profile controversies don't have an impact on our recruitment and sponsorship.

Unfortunately I think the same although we’ll be in a minority on here.

Football is a business and image matters. Controversy follows us around, its fun to say No one likes us we don’t care but ultimately its to the detriment of the club.

I would've thought that the uncertainty over which competition we'll be in would be holding up sponsorship too.

Wonder when Palace's appeal to CAS will be? Qualifying stage draw for the Conference League is on August 4th so that's just over 3 weeks.

Quick twitter search brought this from a football lawyer/page

The Crystal Palace CAS case will likely be held virtually next week with a rapid decision. Drogheda CAS process was within 5 business days. End result likely to be similar - UEFA must have had some compelling evidence to prove the breach to the comfortable satisfaction standard.

That was posted on the 11th, so this week mate

Hopefully get it cleared up then, cheers. It's hard to see how they can have a case - particularly given what both Textor and Parish have said about the emails. But this is Forest of course eo anything can happen.  :Funny:

I think there's a chance that Palace might not appeal. In his interview Parish had a little whine about his big legal bill so far (which has got them nowhere). Presumably taking a case to CAS cost's a small fortune too. If their counsel suggest they have little chance of winning, they may not appeal. Be a big call though to do that though. Is that what all this talk about mobilising fan power etc is all about, getting the FA to endorse their case etc? Trying to win the day by avoiding court?

I was wondering that too. It's not been confirmed that they *have* appealed yet.

I would guess that there would be a deadline for appealing?

The most obvious thing we could do is publish our letter.

It will then show whether we were simply seeking clarification or something more suggestive.

Good idea.

But doing so would suggest that we're somehow defending a negative position. I'm not sure the Big Man thinks like that.
