In this case there is a physical action (snooping) you can point to which was breaking the rules. Its clear and obvious to coin a phrase so people are frothing about it.
The vast majority of rule breaking is invisible in bending complex financial rules but breaking those rules probably gives any club a far greater advantage than that gained by Southampton. We got a points deduction but we would have needed a far greater one to actually relegate us that season. Most rule breaking still gets punished by a fine at any level of the game.

Yep they'll just be waiting for the charge so they can sack him for Gross Misconduct and not have to pay him off.

Hull's owner has said they'll take legal action if they don't win as they think they should have been automatically promoted once Southampton got kicked out.
