Disappointing if it happens due to that Groundhog Day feeling but get it done quietly and quickly so there is minimum disruption. Maybe one day an owner will finally get it right or we will get a slice of Leicester level luck.
I dunno about eyes wide open....I work a lot in Africa and the amount of people that try to do business there, who are very successful elsewhere else is astonishing! I'm not trying to compare Africa to the Champoinship but it's not just a copy and paste from his Greek league success. Perhaps he thought it would be perhaps, but looks like it's not been as he had hoped.

A few models to promotion:
1) Smash your way up by gambling & cheating big time on ffp (Wolves)
2) Slowly build your way up (Brighton),
3) Get a decent coach and let him coach the club (Sheff Utd, Leeds)
4) Go off piste or be a boutique club and do things differently (Brentford, Bournemouth)
We've got none of these going atm. Our best chance is probably hope for a new manager to come in and perform a miracle.
We haven't got the patience for 2 and 3. The money for 1. Plan B is no.4, I take it. Have we got the consistency to stick with that? The patience? It would be better if we have no choice but to follow 4. Then all can grudgingly accept it and hope recruitment can grow their magic beans into beanstalks. *(Selling the odd Academy cow to keep the giant from the door.)
It's about consistency. And Forest haven't had the courage of their convictions.
The club talk about not fit for purpose, appoint a Forest Way style coach and get rid of him for 4(? I"ve lost count...) attritional managers.
The club let go Warburton, Aitor, MoN. Keane. They clearly can't cope with strong characters. There seems to be a brittle ness there.
Why bring them in the 1st place. You bring in Hughton. It takes a year to back him with permanent players. He's still out to dry on a striker. And yet is expect to get a 'nice boy' team (that is barely better than the one that nearly got relegated on paper...) to beat the likes of Cardiff, Boro, yer Millwalls (when Forest struggled with supposed 'better' recruitment.)
A miracle? Luckily. We do have 'Christ Hughton'. He did perform a miracle last season in keeping Forest up. (An under appreciated fact by many because they thought last year's players were 'good enough.' So good they were murdered in the crib and thrown out in the trash, saving millions on Forest's wages turnover.)
My opinion is he will find a way to start picking up points. It may not be pretty. (But nice boy football doesn't work as we saw on Saturday. Forest aren't good enough to play football against the likes of Cardiff. How do you play your football if you're getting man handled? Where are the Archie Gemmils, Birtles? Woodcocks? Robertsons? Bower? The veteran calmness of Captain Govern.)
It was lost on Randall what all the promoted clubs had. He didn't think there was any magic ingredient?
I was surprised a crack legal whiz didn't get it. Had he not choked on his 'short-term-ism?'
Consistency. And for 24 years. Forest haven't had it.

So in your opinion Sniff, has EM almost admitted to himself that he cant’t succeed, and therefore isn’t prepared to fund us to the tune of probably around 20m a year ?
Do you think he is actively looking to sell, or was he approached by an interested party.
So in a nutshell - do you think he is committed to succeeding even if a new owner is not forthcoming

The problem with this club though is that it crosses philosophies. We buy a 13m creator, we then go on to employ managers who don't play with a player in his position. We employ a proven manager like Hughton who brings in some decent loans like Garner & Krovi (considering the position we were in), and we then decide it's time to impose someone to recruit over him. OK so theres no pizzagate or ASDA training balls, but he has sold our talent and the club has steadily gone backwards in relation to the starting point in the league.
If he does sell, which I doubt, history will tell a story of a failed Greek ownership. Hardly a legacy, and that is why I believe he is made of sterner stuff.

Currently as it stands and hypothetically speaking our position stays the same then the ownership can only be described as worse than fawaz, not something I thought id never be contemplating thinking nevermind writing. Being in charge when were relegated to league 1 in the same amount of time fawaz had us would be catastrophic so no wonder he may well want to sell quickly not to have that attached to his name. But it's too late for that now unless things drastically change quickly.
That will hurt the big man for sure if he is a born winner.

To be honest, these rumours could indicate any number of possible scenarios and could also indicate nothing other than we've had a couple of chats outside the bogs in some fancy restaurant in New York.
Could also be that EM might want to bring in another party to share the burden? Could it be an agreement with another club, stateside? So many possibilities!
