If you look at the starting eleven Samba, Ribeiro, Worrall, Figs, Yates, Sow, Ameobi and Grabban were here last season.
The only summer additions that are playing are Knockaert (on loan), Christie (on loan) and Cafu (a free from his other club).
Mckenna, Colback and Freeman are injured tbf and Fred has yet to be fully fit. Most of the others were squad fillers.

Currently 7th though, yet another game where we've been competitive against a top half side and conceded due to one terrible mistake.

I think Stoke play a bit like this, they back themselves to defend well. We don’t create much, just put crosses in which they’re good at defending so job done.

we spent maybe £9m on Soh and McGinn but sales of maybe £25 to £30 million, besides Cash and the academy lad, Silva, Jack Robinson, Osborne were good players, may even be a £20m profit on transfers last season/summer
appreciate running costs, loans, covid etc very expensive but .. investment mmmm
Soh and McGinn are very interesting, maybe the owners had more than an eye on the future as opposed to this season
either way this season is leaning towards being an unmitigated disaster
