I don't think we should uderestimate the job that MON has done so far.
He walked into a bit of a shitstorm (lets not pretend everything was rosey when he arrived).
It was almost half way through the transer window (never easy).
He had an enormous defensive crisis to deal with and was having to fend off bids for our best players.
Through all of that he has managed to win 50% of his games in charge.

Managing Forest gives you wings. The manager should have energy and passion for the Forest job and it's great to see it captured in a picture. Despite the subdued (or humble) nature of his arrival, the Brentford win signifies a shifting of gears.
I noticed in the interview yesterday, Martin sounded much more like the 'Martin' I knew. More energised, growing in confidence and positive (see his comments on Yates) and I suspect (in Peter Taylor tradition...) that is, in part, due to Keane's arrival. (...who is in the picture bottom left.)

No small task. Forest were in trouble. They'd been an inconsistent team all season.
A manager had walked out (several times?) and we 'lost December' as a result. All the points and more to put Forest in the top 6 and higher (had we been consistent enough to pick up a couple of wins.) Off the field, Forest's structuring and re-structuring of hierarchy had it's impact. And those tensions resulted in the search for a new manager.
The spine of the team was Forest's weak spot. And had been before Aitor blew £25 million. AND? It still was after! It was deftly and 'on point' handled in one fell swoop in the transfer window. Shrewd business with two, three well 'ard CHs. One of them even scored a goal yesterday...to give Forest the win. So Forest scored from a set piece and won. Bonatini almost had a goal upfront bar match fitness. So that's another striker to help the previously isolated Grabban. And Pele? CM. We can only hope he's as good as the others.
Martin has played the defensive crisis very well. Brought x3 excellent additions in Bona' (who is bonafide...) who takes no prisoners, Milo looks a steal and 'Wraggy' is a no-nonsense CH who scores on his debut, from a set piece and gets Forest the win. Martin dealt with the Jack and Os' conundrum by deftly swapping them about. Jack has deputised fairly well at CH. OS' has had his shot in midfield, back to lb for yesterday's match then pushed onto midfield again.
Yes, 50% win ratio. Martin broke Brentford. Forest got right in their faces. With Watson guiding Yates in DCM.
(Yates getting his home league debut, proving the highlight of yesterday's game and getting enthusiastic praise from the manager.)
Sometimes it's about managing what you have through 'fresh eyes' and instead of blowing ten million on 3-4 targets in January, Forest brought in 4 rock solid players right where the team needed it and just 'didn't have it.' But playing Yates instead of Pele (fitness reasons probably) opened up a new dimension to Forest's season.
Good managers can do that. They inspire. They seek. They find.
They get up from a kick in the nuts and win their next game. (Mind you, having Keane to hold them down for you helps...) They go for the win, ugly or not.

I think he is making Forest extremely difficult to beat, he fills me with confidence, I have confidence we can beat anyone in this league and maybe win enough to make the play offs

I am happy with the job MON has done so far in difficult circumstances.
Give him the summer transfer window and a pre-season and lets see where he and Roy can take us. (Not given up on this season yet though).

ppl wanted something that was percieved new, modern and progressive most thought they had that with AK and his original favourite replacement. To get MoN was a shock as no one believed any alternative was possible plus MoN had recent bad press with RoI and the rest is compounded by endless negativity on twitter and a label that stuck followed by disagreements with team selection. Personally was a little negative Watson but understood why he did. Given the right time I think he will do good - hopefully the board will stick with him for next season given its surely out of reach now to get anything out of this season ( unlikely versus impossible ) and reliant on other teams not doing well.
