Oh you tease :s RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - ozzyten10 - 03-02-2019 Nail on head SA. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - ozzyten10 - 03-02-2019 Just to defend myself. I am a fan. I am behind MON or whoever takes the job of manager. I have never called for a manager to be sacked. I am not to blame for toxicity of the fan base for merely sharing my view and also some info I stick by. SA has just more eloquently delivered a point of view I share than I can myself. I will not mention karanka again as it serves no purpose. The criticism of the new owners is valid and open to debate-that is what a forum is for. But by Friday I will be in the stands singing MOK with the same blind optimism that this is a game where we can get that winning run together. Like I have done for some 36 years. COYR RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - Username - 03-02-2019 Good post Ozzy RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - Reds73 - 03-02-2019 Should we be concerned with Vrentzos ? I realise he is EM right hand man, but the more I hear about him the more concerned I get. His relationship with AK broke down, heard he and Randall often don't see eye to eye, and a few good staff have recently left who work behind the scenes. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 03-02-2019 If my info is correct (I think it is) then Francois Modesto is having more say on things. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - ozzyten10 - 03-02-2019 He is a relatively recently retired french footballer who had been working as a scout for Olympiacos - What is his role here and is it official? The lack of intelligence at senior level on EFL is what is making me uneasy. I suppose we have Metgod and Randall with knowledge of the English game in their roles and Samantha Gordon is hugely respected and has experience of PL and EFL finance. A CEO would just be organising people within their respective roles and the business side of things. Ventroz is obviously highly regarded from his time in Greece and did have a good reputation/track record????? However, the first team decision making above the manager seems to be the missing link and in constant flux. The arrival of several Olympiacos administrators seems from a distance to be placing what has worked to a degree in Greece being plonked into an EFL infrastructure without an understanding of the nuances of English football and the EFL as the hardest league in the world to get out of. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 03-02-2019 The thing is NG3 and what worries me slightly is that there appears to be too many chefs in the kitchen. We have all these people constantly coming over from Greece sticking their oar in, Anigo, Modesto, Karembeu, Dourekas etc etc and I don't like it. Vrentzos has always been a 'strange' bloke. He has never ever given an interview in his life. Personally if Marinakis wants to 'own' our Football Club then that is fine by me but I think he needs to hire full time Forest people at our club and not rely on his Olympiakos foot soldiers to be going backwards and forwards between England and Greece every five minutes because it ain't working out. In my opinion, we should start with a full time English CEO not a part time Greek one. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - ozzyten10 - 03-02-2019 The policy from the club of not speaking to the press is understandable but then leaves a vacuum. People get snippets then build a picture and yes I am guilty of this. I hope this all settles - a structure is decided upon, people are appointed and more importantly backed with time. This is then communicated including infrastructure plans so there is something that we as fans can be re-assured by. Football is football, results will always surprise you - look at Man city v newcastle - leeds recent form, but as a fan base we deserve a bit of re-assurance following the events of the first 18months of EM ownership. They may well be suffering from the Past with Fawaz but on the face of it - pitch and managers, little seems to have changed. The fans have backed this team this year brilliantly in numbers and we have a huge opportunity to build on this. Steve Sutton struck me yesterday though when he said it will click and somepoint for someone. No it wont, it needs to be planned. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - Kranky - 03-02-2019 I'm yet to be convinced by our owners. Still feels like the Fawaz years for me and this stadium/infastrucure feels like nothing more than hot air. If i was a betting man I'd say Keane and MON won't be here come first game of the season next season and the merry go round will rumble on. I am fed up of it all to be honest. A lot of fans have bought into this new project that's now on thr third manager in 2 seasons. Marinakis needs to be careful because fans aren't fools. For me it should be the opposite way round; Marinakis is the owner, he should hire people he trusts to run the club, be they Greek, English or Martian. Having half the board made up of Forest old boys and half made up of Greeks isn't a good recipe imo. I agree there should be a permanent structure though, it isn't good if he's trying to get the same people running both clubs. |
