RE: Ange - ac_vodka - 11-09-2025 Wasnt that impressed with the interview but it's largely irrelevant. What happens on the pitch is all that counts. What has impressed me is the outpouring of love from former club fans which has now surpassed the initial ridicule. Feels like he will get the players onboard relatively quickly and that's a good thing. New start for everyone just got to hope it's positive. Whilst disappointed that Nuno has gone and how it materialised as I’ve probably said before, I’m more gutted about losing his coaching team tbh. Loved having Cooper as manager but always felt what didn’t help him was the lack of experience or knowledge of his coaching team. Quite often during games he’d turn towards them perhaps looking for input/help and nothing. Nuno’s team were a completely different prospect and had that experience, knowledge etc in abundance and for me were a major part in his success. I just hope Ange’s team are equally as good. RE: Ange - Paplane - 11-09-2025 Keane and Neville very critical of the club on the Overlap this week. Keane reckons the club have shown no 'class' towards Nuno and warns new Forest managers that they're shaking hands with the devil. It's ironic because Keane did just that and if he were offered the job last week he'd be running there to do it I'm sure. Neville suggests that Marinakis isn't conducting himself in a way fitting of a club owner and then splurts some drivel about becoming excited when we were first promoted (which is bollocks as my recollection is that we never appeared on Neville's radar at all in that first season and that he's never taken us seriously). There was no mention of Nuno signing a new 3 year contract and then actively seeking the sack two months in on that new deal. Carragher was the only sensible voice in the room who pointed out that no manager at any club likes a director of football being imposed upon them after there's been success without him but clubs bring these people in as they grow and develop. I think I'm at the point now where I've got to boycott the Overlap. RE: Ange - Fumanchew - 11-09-2025 Funny how one banned from the city ground and one who’s best mate got sacked for being awful talk about the club isn’t it RE: Ange - Plymouth red - 11-09-2025 Surely spurs sacking Nuno after just ten games or sacking Ange for winning a trophy are just as abhorrent to them. Or is it just that saying something controversial is good for clicks and brand RE: Ange - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 11-09-2025 Is that the same Gary Neville who is the worst manager in the history of Valencia? RE: Ange - jurgen rober - 11-09-2025 It's not just the guys on Overlap, almost all the internet pundits on Youtube etc are telling us how badly this will work out with Angeball. They have no idea how he will adapt to play with the players we have and I hope we have a fantastic season and cram all the stupid comments back into their mouths. Neither did well at management and as for talking about owners, how are Salford doing Gary and how many managers have you gone through since taking over ownership of them with your mates? :Up Yours: RE: Ange - BomberBowyer - 11-09-2025 (11-09-2025, 12:38 PM)jurgen rober Wrote: It's not just the guys on Overlap, almost all the internet pundits on Youtube etc are telling us how badly this will work out with Angeball. Yup and not one of them have stopped to think that perhaps the Ange we are going to get has taken opportunity to reflect, learn and is coming back more determined than ever to prove how good a manager he is ?♂️ RE: Ange - Sausage Roll - 11-09-2025 Just listening to part of Ange's first press conference on Sky. - Says initial talks were over last weekend then things moved quickly on Monday and he didn't have to take long about making the decision. - Likes the squad, says they're talented but also robust enough to cope with competing on all fronts - Respectful of the jobs that both Nuno and Cooper before him did - Says the players and staff will need time to process the change and mentioned that it looked like Nuno was trying to change the style of play this season - makes me think that short term we might not see too much change - Knows he'll have to earn the respect and admiration of the fans - Wants his teams to play exciting football, dominate the ball, pressure the opposition and score goals (I mean, don't we all?) A few funny soundbites. Said he might have to win a trophy in his first season to get a second one. Was asked a stupid question about comparisons to Brian Clough and said he'd never compare himself to Clough but if he could bring achievements and success to the club and city he'd be happy.
