I honestly wonder if the players think like us fans when it comes to not feeling confident of picking up a result or if genuinely feel before each game they can win it.

The players are very confident we will stay up.

Well the players and SC plus the coaching staff will have to up their game & performances to achieve that Reds73

This is my thinking also. Our home form has been decent (results wise) which I fully accept but our away form is horrendous.

can anyone point to a game we've genuinely performed well?

I think it’s all relative.
Anything above 20th this season was over performance. We have realistically 2 players from last season (Johnson and Yates) who have proved to have been able to consistently hit the level.
Even solid championship performers such as Worrall, McKenna, Surridge, Colback haven’t been able to do it consistently.
This wasn’t a surprise to anybody in the club, hence the need for a completely new squad.

Never in Premier League history has a team had to sign a whole new squad just to enable you to compete.
Therefore, the reality is, and especially more so when you then think a lot of key players have missed large chunks of the season, it’s a miracle we only need 3 wins from 11 games to stay up !

If Coops keeps us up, it’s as big an achievement as last season.

We looked dead and buried after Leicester away.

Since Leicester away we haven't seen much improvement either and the vast majority of these player's have been here for 7 months now.

When you said that anything above 20th this season was over performance did anyone tell that to EM? I think we should aim a bit higher and expect a little bit more than that to be honest after spending about 170M on new player's.

100% agree, it's been an amazing season when you put in the context above. Just frustrating that the injuries have derailed what was beginning to look like a comfortable survival.

RE: Next Few Games - JollyLolly - 23-03-2023

Reds73 You seem so sure that 3 wins (another 9 points) will make us safe. I have no idea how many points we may require, all I want from SC and the players is that at the end of the season they look back not thinking" what if only" we had a real go earlier. Now's the time to reset the season on the front foot, S**t or bust time!

Did anyone tell EM that his £170m would be spent on the following:

£19m on the slowest striker in the PL
£18m on a young midfielder unlikely to contribute much this season
£17m on a 2nd choice left back
£10m on a 4th choice midfielder
£10m on another midfielder we have just loaned out
£10m on another midfielder who can’t pass the ball further than 5 yards
£8m on a left back with a broken leg
£8m on 2 strikers who we immediately loaned out because they were never PL standard
£5m on a central defender who never made the squad
£6m in wages to a forward who makes great tik tok videos

RE: Next Few Games - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 23-03-2023

No which is probably why he's totally pissed off.

Who is responsible for most of that lot that you mention?

RE: Next Few Games - wassy04 - 23-03-2023

Bournemouth - 83m
Everton - 75m
Leeds - 145m
Southampton - 143m
West Ham - 194m
Wolves - 177m

These teams will already have had at least half of a solid pre-existing team whereas we had two of which one has been injured.

We're not the only team that's spent money, competition is high. Some of these teams have spent similar amounts in previous years consistently too. This is another reason why anything above 20th would be an excellent acheivement.
