Don't want to make think a Hughton discussion though.  We have very different thoughts on him.

On Maja, Bordeaux's sporting director said today he has no idea why the move fell through and Maja wanted to come here.

He's bound to say that though, especially if he thought he could flog us a dud for £4M. You have been quite vocal in your views so far on here about the summer signings and CH, which you are entitled to do and whilst I find it hard to agree with some of your points, I respect that that is your opinion. With that said, I am sure you would've been extremely vocal if we had signed Maja and it transpired we had been paid £4M for a player with back injuries, quite rightly so IMO.

I am of the opinion to see just what CH does once he has the full squad (or thereabouts) at his disposal and see if he does try a different formation, rather than rip him a new arse now without giving him the opportunity to try something new.

Last night, Wales gave him the opportunity to see young Brennan Johnson playing just behind the main striker, I have seen this referred to as a fake 9 position. Maybe this is something CH has up his sleeve to try and bolster our struggling forwards, who knows until we see what he does.

So we only believe spin when other clubs are using it, when out club does it's not spin and we just accept it as the truth?

No, we wait and see what happens before jumping to conclusions. The same as when players are 'linked' to joining us by the likes of Football Insider etc. Then everyone goes into a frenzy about him being good, bad, indifferent. Unless the club actually announce a certain player, then it is pure speculation on the journo's part, especially from the online sites. It's also known as 'clickbaiting'.

How do you know someone at the club is drip feeding the journos and it is not them adding 2 and 2 together and coming up with what ever figure pops into their heads? (L'equipe for instance). I am pretty certain that those in the know at the club are not dropping out names to anybody, let alone to the likes of L'equipe. If their source is from the player or his current club, that could be them making mischief to try and get other interest from other clubs, thats hardly Forest's fault.

What spin exactly are you referring too incidentally?

So are you saying then that you wouldn't have commented on us paying £4M for a player with back problems then? Somehow, I seriously doubt it. We would all have been up in arms about it!

There's some hypocrisy in here.

'How do you know' 'How can you draw those conclusion'.  Before then assuming L'equipe are adding 2 and 2 together.  What about Bordeaux's Sporting Director saying he has no idea why it fell through, and that the player wanted to join and it was going to happen then didn't?  Some factions came out saying that we weren't actually interested, then others are saying we were, others saying medical made it fail.

You're just choosing which you want to believe to suit your desire to believe it's all rosey.

The spin is two particular local journalists being fed the exact same stories at the exact same time.

I've heard some distressing things about what has gone on this summer, which is very much against what the club are claiming through their approved local journalists.

Hopefully it will come out next week.  Although I suspect many will continue to bury their heads in the sand, because it's not what they want to hear.

Imagine if the club were just open, honest and communicated.  Sadly they're not, they keep quiet and use journalists to promote or refute what they wish to.

Maybe they like to keep it all private (Not sure why, because that creates issues in itself.

Or maybe, it's because if you talk out loud and lie, you have to keep talking to cover up your own lies.

Or when they do communicate eg. Randall.  People don't take him at his word.

They're trying to move the club forward in a difficult market at a transitionary time for football and Forest in particular.

Life aint all black and white.

The two local journalists being Paul Taylor and George Harby? Who used to work together at the NP? Who are probably drinking pals in their spare time?

I admit that Taylor does have some credibility in his reporting, but he is no angel when it comes to muck stirring. Remember his tirade against Billy Davies? I do and I bet there are many others who do too.

Interestingly, talking of burying heads in sand, you seem to do the same thing. Twice I have mentioned or questioned you on whether you would've kicked off if we had bought a £4M injured player and twice you have chosen to ignore the fact. Hypocrisy comes in many guises my friend

They likely came out with the c**k and bull story about having no interest in Maja because he failed his medical and they didnt want to harm the lad's long term prospects as a pro by advertising the fact. And as for his club's comments, they're hardly likely to want to smear their player's prospects or diminish his value either are they?

People read far to much shit into things.

He says, as he just massively reads into something to justify his own perspective..

No pal, I wasnt that fussed about Maja coming to be honest but I do know a club doesnt go around tarnishing the career prospects of a young pro, especially when it involves someones medical issues.

Sure.  Just read into something to make it match the assessment of what you perceived.

Difference is, your perspective is presenting the actions of the club in a positive light.  My interpretations present the club in a negative light and a few don't like it.

Forget it then pal. I'm  not interested in your negative shit.

Is this not what you are doing though? In all seriousness? You are also reading into something that matches your assessment of what you have perceived! Do you know the truth about Maja and the situation first hand or do you think you have come up with the solution to what happened, in which case you are basing your own negative views on your assumptions and not on nailed on facts? Who's the hypocrite now?

And before you try and twist this round to your perspective again by accusing me of making assumptions, all of my comments are questions raised, not my thoughts or assumptions

Ive just got back in from watching a non-league match and having a couple of pints at the same time mate!

RE: Tactics Formations & Team Selections Etc - Paplane - 05-09-2021

What are you going on about being a hypocrite? My statment was made based on a report by an indpeendent journalist from a massive newspaper in France and not from one of your supposed stooge journalists. And I also referred to the clubs version as a c**k and bull story. Ive got to say mate, your tendency to play the man rather than the issue is really annoying me now, as is your 'I know best attitute'. You dont know best, you're just guessing like we all are even though you claim to be well connected.

TBH, I'm fed up of going round in circles on this matter. You have got your interpretation of events SSM and I am happy to see what the official line is.

Either way, it doesn't make one bit of difference now does it? The event has been and gone

If you want to see things in a negative light, that is your prerogative. I prefer to try and remain positive where I can.

Frankly my dear Scarlet, I don't give a damn!

Wonder who the midfield 3 will be.

Need plenty of mobility to plug holes, and ability on the ball to find the feet of attackers, as the front three, you hope, will be advanced and not coming too short to retrieve the ball, so the central striker doesn't become isolated.

Garner is the first obvious choice.  When ready (October) Ojeda you will hope will take a role with the talk of him being combative, but enjoys being in possession and switching the play.

Who's the third man?  I wonder if we use Zinckernagel there.  Played centrally for Watford, good in possession, mobile - although not convinced he enjoys the defensive side of the game, Gabriel was often left 2-on-1 vs Derby.

I am a Yates fan, for his endeavour, his strength of winning duels, competing and pressing and I think he adds a goal threat *if* he's allowed to attack the box.  But he is average at best in possession and struggles to play forward passes through lines or when areas are congested.  Cafu? Just don't see it, I think he's petulant, falls over a lot, doesn't really offer any kind of threat on the opposition goal, is quote poor defensively and makes bad decisions (Bradford free kick when he's in the wall).  I think Fornah could 100% do it, would allow Garner to play slightly more advanced too.  Fornah loves dropping it, taking the ball off the back line and get the game moving.  Also allows for the full-backs to push on and he almost turns it into a back 3.  If we trust him, I think he's made to be in a 433.  Colback? Not for me, offers next to nothing going forward, not convinced he's all that great at being the lateral destructive centre-mid he previous was either.

I really like Ollie Hammond, but probably a year too soon.  Although I wish we were in a position where he'd maybe be the 5th man and get involved in match days squads on occasion, but sadly not.  Fin Back is actually a really good CM, it's his been his strongest position through his young career to date.

Interesting thoughts...

I like Yates.  He was coming along nicely under MoN and Keane's tuition.
