Tree UK TV Classics From Years Gone By
Posted by: Sniffer Dog - 04-05-2020, 04:10 PM - Forum: The Nottingham Forest Ale House - Replies (21)

With a lot of time on my hands recently I've been watching some of my old favourite UK TV shows/series.

I've watched some Only Fools And Horses Series 1.
Also some Auf Wiedersehen Pet Series 1.
Today I watched some Dave Allen.

So many old classics to choose from.

What are some of your favourites from the past?

Tree The Feel Good About Yourself Thread
Posted by: Tricky - 04-02-2020, 11:41 AM - Forum: The Nottingham Forest Ale House - Replies (16)

There is enough doom and gloom about at the present time and we are all feeling shocked, saddened, angry, scared about the current situation.

Let the rest of us know about something you have achieved or done today that will make a bit of a difference to yours or other lives. For example, I have prepared a lovely steak for the Wife, for when she gets in from work..........................I haven't, that was just an example, shes having chops whether she likes it or not!  Big Grin

Have you finally got round to doing something you have been putting off for ages? Have you helped out a neighbour in this time of need? Have you passed that exam you've been working so hard for? Share it with the rest of us and get a pat on the back from your fellow Trickies  Shy

I will start................I haven't had a fag for 9 weeks today. I'm so chuffed at that!  Cool

Tree Finances And The League Suspension
Posted by: Tricky - 03-22-2020, 10:37 PM - Forum: The Nottingham Forest Ale House - Replies (131)

Just read this on todays Nottingham Post webpage...........

https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/foo...st-3973280

Firstly, it is alarming that the club will swallow up the £800,000 they could get from the league in just 14 days!

Secondly, what do you think will happen regarding FFP for this season? Surely the league cannot continue to operate it after the uncertainty this seasons suspension will bring to many clubs.

Thirdly, do you think part of the TV package will be reclaimed by Sky/BBC due to them not showing any matches and as a result, in Sky's case anyway, have lost an awful lot of customers who have either cancelled or temporarily suspended their Sky Sports accounts? This could have serious repercussions on clubs finances also.

I just thought this would make for an interesting discussion/debate amongst you all..................

Tree If You Could Turn Back Time
Posted by: Redgirl - 03-17-2020, 10:44 PM - Forum: The Nottingham Forest Ale House - Replies (11)

Given the horrendous time we are living in what era would you live in if you could turn back time..

Mine would be to be young in the sixties The music was great, the football was great the grounds were packed and not forgetting we won the World Cup, no social media, no internet no computers and mass employment. The working class were proud to be working class.

Britain led the world in fashion, music and the film industry. What an era.

What era would everyone else would’ve liked to have been in? ( Barring the golden years which are obvious)

Anyone else think they should be looking after their customers and offering this free, or for say a tenner a month? I pay £34, which is a considerable amount to pay for no actual live sport content.

Just tried to cancel. Cant do it online - tells you to ring them. When you ring, 40 minute queue.

Confused

Tree Living Without Football

I’ve spent just 2 days at home ( no pub & no sport ) & I’m going gaga already!
I have stockpiled though - a couple of cases of wine & 3 cases of beer.
At current rates they won’t last long.

Tree UEFA What Planet Are They On?
Posted by: Redgirl - 03-11-2020, 08:26 AM - Forum: The Nottingham Forest Ale House - Replies (21)

UEFA are refusing to cancel the Wolves v Olympiakos match, why? Are they on an alternative planet to the rest of us? It is putting both clubs at risk.

They are also refusing to cancel or even move venues for the Getafe’s fixture v Inter Milan due to be played in Milan which is currently on lockdown.

Surely this can’t be allowed to happen, the Spanish team are refusing to go so will probably forfeit the match.

Utterly unbelievable behaviour from UEFA makes you wonder what on earth is going on.
