Harry Maguire.

Currently in jail on Syros Island here in Greece after after attacking police offices in Mykonos. He then gave it the big 'do you know who I am' etc and then tried to bribe the police offices by offering them money. They refused  and he will face the prosecutor tomorrow in Syros. What a complete and utter toss pot.

Tree Snooker Aka Rocket Ronnie
Posted by: PsychoStanleyStone - 08-12-2020, 09:37 AM - Forum: COYR Forest Forum Ale House - Replies (26)

Being a bit of an extremist i really really like Ronnie, but i sort of understand why others don't, probably similar reasons to why i hated Hendry back in the day and Davis before him, we struggle to like winners, and inevitably I would certainly of been rooting for Hurricane Higgins against Davis and some wild card v Hendry, the latter(s) often systematically and totally decimating the opponent.

I also have this romantically pretty thing about Ronnie to Jimmy to Hurricane Higgins, which I like but moved on a bit now, as in I don't care how Ronnie wins now, I just really enjoy snooker when he is winning

It's got to the point where I am a fan of Ronnie more than a fan of snooker, I actually enjoy his interviews and though he says controversial things about the players and the game the politics and structure behind the sport can be as tedious and complex as the game itself, deep down i think he wants the sport to thrive

As it is we have a set up where Mark Williams is the 3rd highest ranked player in the world, something is wrong with the sport, just as it probably would need Ronnie to lose an arm and a leg to fall out of the top 50, it is a similar scenario for many deadwood players who have been clogging up the sport for decades.

I'm not sure where the sport goes after Ronnie but as it is, Ronnie is still setting new records, not the longevity records, but speed and brilliance records.

I enjoyed Hendry's punditry on Ronnie, I could listen to debates about differant types of chalk and tips and Ronnies quirky winning techniques like clicking his shoes together before a shot, for hours, as long as Ronnie is on the screen.

For him or against him?  Any (Ronnie) snooker lovers left out there?  I don't dislike the other players but they all seem like dull 'suits' , there is absolutely nothing of interest except if they are up against Ronnie, then it is interesting, almost exciting, but it is a difficult game to watch.

What I am really saying is, this Rocket fella, he ain't gonna be around forever and even now he is in many ways still improving, the guy is an enigma, enjoy it while you can

tonight, 12/8/2020 semi final v Selby 7pm on BBC i player and other channels probably, first fella to 17 ie best of 33 frames so it's the long format

Norwich, Watford , Bournemouth, Coventry, Rotherham and Wycombe are the new additions.

Bit too early to say whether the 3 relegated teams will be favourites to bounce back.

I think we have to see which managers and players will be leaving first.

I can't see any of the promoted teams bothering the top half.

Tree COYR End Of Season Awards
Posted by: Tricky - 06-18-2020, 09:10 AM - Forum: COYR Forest Forum Ale House - Replies (69)

This season has been like no other in living memory, due to Covid-19.

With some football finally returning to enlighten our days a little more, and to give us something to talk about, besides politics, I was thinking about the possibility of an end of season awards thingy for COYR users to be judged by Sniff and Duncan.

The winners could have their award somehow attached next to their name whenever they make a post.............for example.....Tricky, COYR Most Charismatic and Entertaining Poster 2019/20  Cool or Sniffer Dog, COYR International Playboy 2019/20  Big Grin

Just something humorous and nothing serious, but to put a bit of a smile on users faces.

Obviously, the final decision will rest on Sniff, if he is ok with it and if there is someway he can make this happen, but I thought I would put it out there for a discussion.

Tree This is A Nottingham Forest Football Forum
Posted by: Sniffer Dog - 06-09-2020, 04:46 PM - Forum: COYR Forest Forum Ale House - Replies (28)

Read the title of the thread and remember it.

It would be great if some posters put more effort into writing about Nottingham Forest instead of politics. The political posts are outnumbering the football posts and that is not why I made this forum and it's not what this forum is about.

I know we haven't had any football played for 3 months or so but even so with a little thought and imagination some football disscussion can easily be created.

If I feel that this forum is losing it's identity and posters (it's happening  Angry) then I will lock up all the political threads.

This forum is not here to serve peoples political agendas, it's here to talk about Nottingham Forest and Football plus some Nottingham related threads in the Ale House  along with some fun games.

Less politcs and more football please. That's why we are here and that's why I created this forum.
