From the 1st January to coincide with the new year and the opening of the transfer window I will be making some changes to the forum. I have received a few complaints from posters about the amount of people who view the forum on a regular basis but never ever post anyhing. So to all the viewers, you need to start contributing by making a post every now and then otherwise your account will probably be deleted.
Also from the 1st January the forum will be visible to registered users only. So all people who curretly visit the forum as a guest will need to register (it's quick, simple and free) to continue to view and use the forum.
Thanks to all of you who post on COYR. You make this forum what it is. Together we will continue to go from strength to strength. COYR!

Can I just take this opportunity Sniff to thank you for your efforts with your forum.
It's a pleasure to be a part of a forum where everyone pulls in the same direction. No ego's or aggressive posters. Just good Forest fans talking good stuff.
And no ads. What more could you wish for?

I really enjoy reading this forum on a daily, sometimes hourly basis.
Thank you for providing a great forum for Forest fans. I will try post on a regular basis without just listing for the sake of it.

my life was meaningless and all i saw was darkness, i didn't know what to do or where to go, i meditated and next thing i woke up washed up onto the shores of COYR's a secret cove by the Trent, the white sand was glistening like diamonds in the sun, it's a magical place, when i'm not posting i make sand castles and listen to the skylarks singing and my thoughts become full of brighter and happier times

Bit harsh :-/ What harm does it do for people to not post? Does it slow the site down if people are on here just reading? If there are no detrimental effects then it all seems a bit elitist to start deleting accounts of people who don't comment.
I am one such lurker & I am on here regularly. I like to pick up on all the latest goss & see other peoples opinions on games & players etc. I really do appreciate the effort that everyone puts in to pass on what they know & I thank you all for it but I don't particularly want to join in any conversation, I'm not a chatty kinda guy.
I left Nottm 25 years ago so, not being local, I miss out on all the whispers & the news. That's why I come here.
I know there are other sites & I do visit them but this site has stuff that they don't &, in some cases, is a far less stressful place to be.

I too think this is harsh.
I don’t tend to post on anything at the moment whether that be Internet forums or Facebook pages.
But this is one of the very few forums that I actually like to read, I just can’t get on with the majority of the others, they’re just full of petty arguing, the same old boring cliches and so called jokes.
I can’t say I agree with what a lot of members post on here, but that’s life as we all have different opinions.
So if this rule does come in I think it will be very undemocratic and unnecessary.

I also think it's a bit harsh. Some people like posting & some people like reading.
The forum has grown in leaps and bounds, I see more and more names appearing in threads. It is working well.
I fully support requiring registration to view the threads but deleting accounts that don't post seems to defeat the purpose of a forum where people get to participate in different ways. Reading is participation.
Perhaps what is needed is to deactivate accounts that have not logged on to the forum for 24 months, this is just to keep the registered users database tidy.
