If We Get Promoted To The PL This Season

Realistically, in the long term id say only Cash and Samba could stay in the team but if we got up, the only priority would be to stay up in that 1st season. You can then build from there.

There are always players who adapt well (example Wes Morgan), so there could be a few suprises. Who that could be I have no idea!

Lets try and focus on those good enough to be included in a potential starting eleven and matchday squads of 18 rather than the whole squad. A squad will always carry players who are not going to play games.

In a starting eleven I would go with:

Samba.
Cash.
Lolley.

In matchday squads I would add:

Worrall.
Chema.
Ribiero.
Silva.
Carvalho.
Grabban.

I agree mate which is why I didn't include him in the starting eleven. I thought long and hard about it.

Tough question. To be brutally honest it's hard to see beyond Samba and Cash for a starting X1 place.

Wozza maybe on the assumption he continues to improve. I could see Dawson & possibly Watson maybe playing a few games, if we got promoted in the summer, purely for their experience but both would presumably struggle for pace.

Grabban could feature, but no manager has decided he's prem class over his career yet.

But would our team be any worse than say Huddersfield were when they stayed up a couple of years ago? Do we have a worse squad than Sheff Utd?

That is just not realistic. We will not buy almost a completely new team for the first season in PL. We should also keep in mind that we still have 2/3 of the season left to play and if we should be promoted I believe that many of our players would have played really well during that time.

So based on both current form and future potential I would nominate the following players for the starting 11 in PL:
- Samba (no question about that really)
- Cash (has all the attributes to make it as a top modern day RB)
- Ribeiro (I see a lot of similarities between Cash and Ribeiro and I believe that Ribeiro has every chance to become a top modern day LB)
- Worral (has shown this season that he is a great talent and will be full of confidence if we mange to get promoted. Has the potential to take the step up to PL)
- Chema (I have been impressed with Chema when he has played although he needs more time to settle in. I believe that him and Worral will be our preferred CH pairing come the end of the season)
- Sow (Is so good at breaking up play. Definitely good enough for the PL)
- Lolley (the Lolley from last season would warrant a place in our starting 11 but not on current form)
- Silva (if Silva has slowing get to grips with the Championship and if he can continue to develop in the same way for the rest of the season I believe he could be a real asset in PL)

Other than that I see few candidates for a PL starting 11. Maybe Yates has the potential but I'm not too sure. Johnson is still too young but you never know what could happen before the end of the season.

It's not always about new players and blowing big cash though Sniff. Villa have done that and they're hardly pulling up trees.
I think a stable, well run club (eg Brighton, Burnley, Bournemouth) is as much a contributory factor in success as big money players coming in.
