The Runners And Riders...

In the unfortunate event that Aitor Karanka is fired, here we take a look at the runners and riders who will be in the frame to replace him.

1. Slaviša Jokanović.
2.. Martin O'Neill.
3. Nigel Clough.
4. Steve Bruce.
5. Mark Hughes.
6. Sam Allardyce.
7. Leonardo Jardim.
8. Siniša Mihajlović.
9. Carlos Carvalhal.
10. Michel.
11. Fernando Santos (How owners would love to have him but very highly unlikely while we are in The Championship).

If Aitor was to be fired, the 2 would be jokanovic or jardim for me, however I feel the later is well out of reach in the championship.

Interesting philosophy on his style of play. But again out of reach in my eyes in our current position. Bigger teams will be knocking on his door.

Out of that lot I'd probably go for Bruce.

Anything from 2-6 with the exception of Bruce and I'm jumping in the Trent. I'd also add Thomas Christiansen, Gus Poyet and Oscar Garcia to that list, no doubt their names will pop up. Would've added Quique Sanchez Flores too but I think he just took a job in China.

Some of those names make me shudder.

Glad for once Billy Davies isn’t on the list!

Anyone but Mark Hughes! In terms of consistency with the current squad I’d go Bruce or Big Sam, similar style of football and management. In fact you could probably put O’Neil in that bracket too.

Alternatively it was quite fun playing attacking football under Warbs so Jokanovic would be good. I’m working under the assumption Jardim not possible. Although only managed one team so whilst a big name would be a challenge coming in to the championship.

You would certainly call the Forest job a challange!

If promotion is the aim then Sam Allardyce for me but I’m not convinced he would come here.

I will be extremely disappointing if Karanka is fired only to be replaced by one with equal potential. There is really no point in sacking Karanka if we can't do a Wolves and appoint a Nuno kind of manager. I would accept anyone from your list starting with Jardim (except maybe Carvalhal) :)

From Nicko

SHEFF WED. Bruce will be in. And there’s money. Wants three. Chansiri thinks can still go up.

karanka says he hasn't spoken to the club about his future.
So why are we speculating as to whom we want to be filling the as yet, non existent vacancy.
Isn't it speculation, just like this, that is ramping up the pressure on him and the club!
Wait until he is sacked, if he is, at least!
