When he's left back I must admit he's awful there, he's much better further a field.
I'd rather get funds from our dead wood than selling a good squad player.

Os' stays.

Quality.

It's a squad game.

He's been instrumental in our current league position.

Yes.  Think he got injured in training a few weeks back?  Not been quite the same since.

He's clearly not 100%.  Ergo: on bench.

He'll be back.

His Dad is just a bit of a drama queen. He did say it but now he's saying good win yesterday.

He spoke in the heat of the moment it seems.

Feel sorry for Ben he's been made to play in a position that quite clearly doesn't suit him. I can imagine him being a bit miffed on being dropped to the bench. As we now have the quality which has been missing previously I can see him being squeezed out. In which case no one would blame him for wanting a move.

He's a good squad player but anything over 5mill I'd take it and re-invest.

If his Dad's gonna kick off after missing his first game in 3 years then Ben needs to have a word.

Teams are picked on merit and Osborn has been very poor recently.

I’m a big fan of Benny but he was - by his standards - poor @ Burton & couldn’t complain at being benched yesterday.

When he is on form he is my first choice on left side of midfield. I think playing left back has dented his confidence somewhat, he was very poor against both Norwich and Burton. Must be said some of his midfield performances havent been great recently either, he has misplaced a lot of passes.
Its a squad game and he needs to earn his place on merit, therfore if he isnt on form and if others are playing better then tough.

He's good cover for lolley, hope we get a left back in the window. But Robinson is class.

Maybe he is good cover for Lolley, but is he happy to be just that? Its easy for us to say that he is good cover for that and this position, but he is a human being after all. The boy was ever present when we had `a struggling` team, he played in every position required from him, and now that we have ` a decent` team he finds himself on the bench and being used `as cover`. He is not 21 years old, he is 24 years old (might be mistaken here), he will want to play regular football and not be `cover`. Can you imagine what will be his role, if we have to strengthen in January? do you think that these things doesnt go through his mind? What will happen in the summer (promoted or not)?
If I was in his place and know that there is interest in me out there, I will leave it until the January transfer window and if the situation doesnt change, I will ask to go on loan where I can play regular football.

Understandably AK is persisting with his signings, giving them chance after chance after chance, hoping that eventually they might give us a WHOLE game (not sprinkle of class), but at the same time when players (that are not his signings) are drafted in, he (and some of the fans) expect them to play like Hazard, if not they will say that they had the chance and blew it (sic-Yates-he played only one game,v Bury and many said that he had the chance and blew it-but the Portugese kids doesnt matter how many chances they blew, we keep persisting hoping that they come good).

for the way that karanka wants to play Osborn just doesn't fit.

-left back, not good enough
-2 holding positions - better options available to him
- attacking trio - better options available than him.

that's just my opinion. if I see him coming on a sub in midfield I know he will give it his best, work hard and wont let the team down. I just think the others offer more quality than him.

We need to keep him because injuries and suspensions and lack of form will all click in at some point and he can cover so many positions.

Ben needs to accept though (as does every player) that he cannot be guaranteed a start and rightly so.

Duncan, at the end of the day, its not what we want, but what he wants ...its his carear and his future that is at stake. This is not a FIFA game, for cover we can keep Watson or some aging player, not a player that consider himself at his prime (or should be at his age). If he doesnt fit in AK`s game, then he should be honest enough with him and tell him that. If we persist with AK and AK persists with his system, then Ozzy doesnt have a future here, and we shouldnt be grudge him if he decides that it is time to move on. Will not be the first and will not be the last, that`s football. To be honest, it happens in every job at the end of the day. To keep an unmotivated player/s is detrimental, to the player (as a person) and to the value of the player (so detrimental to the club), let them go and get someone else in...or promote a kid from the academy...just my view, might be mistaken..

I would be amazed if he doesn’t accept that?

It appears that we’ve gone from a Tweet (by his Dad) which could have been interpreted in different ways to questioning Ben’s character and contribution to the squad.

If he did want out I couldn’t really blame him given the amount of unwarranted stick that comes his way.
