Forum Ads - Give Me Some Feedback

How are the ads going on the forum in your opinion?

Are they okay and manageable and you are able to live with them?

Are they too much, causing problems and driving you away from the forum?

Please give me some feedback because your opinions matter to me.

Manageable as far as I'm concerned. They're not the awful ones that persist on pages and once you dismiss them they're gone.

Tend to view on ipad, I think ads appear different according to whether you are on PC/phone etc?

I can live with the ads that stay at the bottom of the page but I have to admit the “floating” ones that stay on the page or repeat 3 or 4 times on a page are annoying. I can never seem to close them without hitting the link so just ignore them.

I do appreciate there is an economic necessity though.

You could also adjust your privacy settings SM (settings and then privacy) to help control which ads you see.

for me I'm seeing more ad than content, and it does make it hard to view page. every other post is accompanied by a massive ad.

I don't really like ads either but the truth is that we have a hardcore of 25-30 members who always donate which is great but it is not enough, hence the ads.

If some of the other 1,500 members were willing to help out a bit by donating just 2-5 quid per month on a recurring donation then we could perhaps do away with the ads. It is just the price of one cup of coffee per month I am sure it won't hurt.

I can't be out of pocket every month it's not fair. Even the ads only make about a quid per day currently but it helps us to stay afloat if there is nothing else.

I use adblocker on my laptop so dont see them.

I also use my works PC but dont have adblocker on that so see the ads. They dont really bother me that much TBH. BTW, I use my works PC as much, if not more than my lappy at times

I get the reasoning behind the ads Sniff. I agree, you shouldnt be out of pocket every month

Generally it seems fine. Haven't had any real issue with the Ads.
