The Executive Stand (nearing completion in the photo) was built in 1980 at a cost of £2 million — largely from proceeds of the highly successful era in which Forest dominated not only the English game but also Europe.

On 28 October 1967, Nottingham Forest played Manchester United at the City Ground (below) in front of a crowd of 49,946, this is still the record attendence today and will probably never be broken in our current location.

Love these old City Ground Pictures. Nice to see the old Trent End again, just how I remember it.

The wooden bench seats at the back of the old East Stand at the City Ground in the 1970's.
You can see the East Stand Terracing in front of the benches. ![]()
