Would You Trust Recruitment With Summer 2020?

Bong, Mir, Jenks, Bonatini, Semedo, Bostock etc. This recruitment team get worse by the window.

Would you trust them with Summer 2020, or should they be replaced sooner rather than later, so at least the new team has time to assess & source players who would actually get into other top 6 sides?

Why is Pearce always used as a shining example of recruitment? Have people forgotten how Fryatt and Veldwijk turned out?

I have to say that I was pretty dismayed by the quality of some of the signings. Of course, some of them have not played much and are not likely to by the end of the season (fingers crossed). We have found some gems in Sow, Silver, Ameobi etc. but there seems some very poor players there. Perhaps after a pre-season and some games under their belt, they may prove to be decent. I would far rather have signed fewer players but them be of a proven Championship level - but this costs money.
We do need to shift a lot of dead wood over the summer and I would replace all of these (I thought that there was a player in Bostock - but he obviously was not fancied).

We sign  rejects and expect them to come good

Have had multiple windows now to sign decent attacking options and failed each time

Mir/bonatini/dias/goncalves/soudani/carvalho/adomah etc etc

I never want to see bong play again.

Because his failures were cheap, so could be carried, yet where he invested money it reaped rewards. In Britt & Antonio we sold 2 players who reaped us 22m. I doubt you'd get that if we sold all of the current regimes signings together.

He also has a ton of British contacts who know the young British players in the game, and gets the heads up on players like Adams & Maguire before lots of other bigger clubs do.

And he also sold Darlow & Lascelles, and managed to retain them on loan. That's just f*****g brilliant business.

Is this the same recruitment that has got us 2 points off an automatic promotion place?

Think I'll stay off here today. The overreaction is ridiculous. People saying they don't want to see a player play again after one match. Pathetic. Was everyone on here perfect at their new workplace on their first day.

Some perspective desperately required in some quarters.

I agree SR and I am not voting in this poll.

We are right in the thick of a promotion battle and everybody just wants to pick faults and moan.

Wake me up once our relegation has been confirmed.

Can we please remove Psycho’s name from the options Sniff.
Absolute legend as a player - no one will question that.
But an unmitigated disaster since.

Bong wasnt even that bad! Seriously what were people expecting of him, he's a left back. Their goal and majority of attacks came down the other side.

Also the guy had barely played this season so was naturally tired.

If january window is anything to go by and the absolute rubbish they bought in, then the scouting team need sacking

Who ever recommended Diakhaby and Da Costa needs to face a firing squad

A lot of people knew these was garbage and now it's being proven

Diakhaby all pace and nothing else, how the hell he is labelled a footballer is beyond me
Da Costa was on the pitch for 25 mins last night and must be the only player to have picked up more bookings than touches of the ball, and the club paid £1.6m what a joke

Sorry what were you expecting him to do in that 25 mins? Maybe score a 30 yard volley or run through the entire team? No way you can write him off after 25 mins, personally thought he looked like he could be decent. Liked him touch and movement, should've come on earlier IMO.

Diakhaby however I'm willing to write off...
