I think ThePromisedLand said as much re: the 1st goal.
Blackburn had all the time in the world to pull the shot off. Pele? Slow to casual to close down. Sure, a 'good' shot. But where are our DCMs? SA.

Zico, I think you are an intelligent version of me, funnily enough I just watched the 4 mins 16 seconds of highlights and conclude the same as you, I like Pants especially as Jack in Silent Witness, series 17 to 22 are on Iplayer, some of the series 17 plots are very good, to be honest I don't know how anyone can judge Pants if they haven't seen at least 1 series of Silent Witness

I am looking at Pantlimon througout the season and not just against Blackburn.
He has dropped some right clangers and cost us points in doing so. If we don't start next season with an upgrade I for one will be extremely disappointed.

I always thought that a good goalkeeper will save you points throughout the season.
How many times has Pants been voted man of the match? How many times have we come away from a game and said, you know what, we would have lost that game if it wasn't for Pants. I think the answer is none on both counts. In fact, it is the opposite, he has cost us points and we have actually lost games because of Pants. We will not get promoted with Pants in goal I'm afraid, we need better.

Thank god that we are addressing the goalkeeping situation, it looks like Muric is coming and he won't be coming to sit on the bench.

If it does happen, it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Assuming both keepers stay fit, that's 46 games to play. A 20 year old will make mistakes and take the usual pelters we throw at non perfect displays. Being consistent over a season probably means 10 significant errors all year, half of which cost a goal. Distribution means little as we aren't exactly Man City, so long as we win our fair share of second balls in midfield off the inevitable headed clearance by opposing Centre Half. If he proves to be a better keeper over a season that Pants then he will be very very good at this level and improve us slightly. However, I am breaking with my off season habit of not commenting on signings until they are pictured in NEP talking about how they are so happy to have joined a massive club...great fans....blah blah blah. Believe it when I see it is my off season motto.

Delighted with this news. Pants was poor last season and we need an upgrade. Pep rates Muric highly, that is good enough for me.

I would be happy to sell Pantilimon and keep Steele as back up.
We probably wouldn't get a fee for Steele or Smith so would rather sell Pantilimon because Muric will be our number 1 if he comes otherwise City wouldn't agree to the loan.
