I think the difference is that Wolves bought the finished article and we signed potential.
Jimenez had already played 80 games for Benfica and more than 70 for Mexico so he was absolutely proven.
Compare that to Dias, Goncalves and Carvalho who have just a handful of games between them for Benfica and Portugal.

I don't think it is a coincidence that our 2 best value signings have been Robinson and Lolley and neither are a Mendes/Agent type signing.

true sniff. add colback loan to that.
all 3 players well used to this league.
This is the road we need to take. Robinson, Lolley and Colback etc. Robinson was free, Lolley about 500,000 Colback loan.

Think it all comes back to proper old school scouting myself. Go watch the player and not video clips, speak to people about the player find out what he is actually like before buying and make sure he fits the team.

Nice to see both Simon Hunt and Tommy Johnson scouting players.
I think we have learned our lesson from last season.

Proof of that will be in the pudding. Lots and lots of names mentioned but nothing done yet

Nothing done but that wasn't my point.
My point is thst we now appear to have a scouting system in place which is something we didn't have last season.

Is Simon Hunt still with Forest ?
No longer on the OS, and Tommy Johnson is listed as Head of Scouting.
Simon hunt was appointed head of scouting, and no longer holds that role
As far as I am aware he is still with us but spending most of his time in Scandanavia where he lived and worked when he was a player and manager (Sweden). I could be wrong Reds73 but that is what I was told.
A quick google doesn't throw up much information

Is it possible that Simon Hunt still scouts for us but he is no longer the head of scouting?
In other words he is our Scandinavian scout and Tommy Johnson is head of scouting?
