Everytime I forget how much how much I dislike this Newcastle team. It's always the same, they are super physical until they throw themselves on the ground.

Hat's off to VP for changing the formation after 20mins, if he didn't I suspect we'd have been battered.

Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes amd Tonali in their midfield looks like its massively underperforming to me. I can see with these kind of players, and how they're doing in th league, why Howe's position is being questioned.

And to think, they jettisoned Anderson to avoid selling any of those 3.

They are the worst anti football team in the league by a mile. They infuriate me and how Howe has managed to get a reputation for good football is beyond me. Functional system based yes - but bloody dull football by numbers stuff and mixed in with a large smattering of the dark arts. I’m not surprised he has failed to get a tune out of the new players as they have mostly come from teams where they were given license to express themselves- e.g Elanga. Their bench yesterday would nearly have all got in our first 11 yesterday.

We however should be so pleased with the teams endeavour and commitment yesterday. Would have been easy to fold especially after Thursday but they didn’t. I even thought Lucca did well at disrupting their defence for his Cameo. Vitor has got these players playing for the badge and each other- that is massive credit to him and his staff.

Our set piece defending has also improved 10 fold.

Set pieces defending is a good point. We look completely solid now. Earlier in the season we were a complete shambles.
