I'd have him back in a flash. He's got great potential and is still young enough. Going to Germany was a big mistake, he would have developed so much more as a regular in a struggling Forest team.

Agreed Mcdurban, I wouldn't hesitate to bring him back if the option occured. He's well capable of ripping the Championship a 'new one'.

So, West Brom have said that Burke will be made available for transfer in January.

Simple question. Would you have him back?

I would try to get him on loan in January until the end of the season.

By then we will know whether or not Goncalves will be staying and whether Burke as got his hunger and confidence back.

he just needs to feel loved again. he is younger than goncalves and dias.

I would imagine West Brom are going to take a big hit financially on him. He's failed at 2 clubs now since he left us. No way will anyone want to be paying the big bucks for him now. I image he's on a fair crack too.

Reckon we'd get him for £4 or 5 mill but I doubt AK would want him here.

Hmm I remain unconvinced RD - and I was a regular at U18 / U21 games at the Academy when he was coming through. I still recall coaches ‘talking him’ through games & him shrugging his shoulders and not tracking back.
I would love nothing more than for him to pull on the garibaldi red again & ram those words back down my throat.
I just think that he will always be a 1 game in 3 or 4 merchant.
I certainly believe him to be overhyped & over valued.

Forest got a good deal for him.  Couldn't do it at the club he left for.  He was found out there...and hasn't really done it for WBA either. They are probably hoping to 'damage control' what they paid for him by getting something for him.

If he can't or won't track back, I doubt Karanka would want him here.  One of the Portuguese got dropped for not tracking back vs WBA.  It cost Forest the win.  So, I can't see 'Oliver' shrugging his shoulders at Aitor...

WBA will also want him off of their wage bill if reports are correct (40 grand a week)!!!

Burke himself will be in shock too when he realises no one in this league will want to be
paying him no more than 10 grand p/w. Wherever he ends up he will have to pick up the 
threads and start his career again.

I can't help feeling sorry for the lad because I don't believe what's happened in the
past couple of years has been entirely his fault. I don't think Fawaz did him any favors,
he just grabbed the money for his own back pocket!!

it never looked like a good move for the lad really did it. as Jenas said it stunk of an agent trying to get the best deal.

since then iv watched him play with Scotland u21s and he didn't impress at all. looked disheartened and disinterested.

If you compare the suggested price to that of Goncalves I know who i’d Prefer.

As I’ve said many times - nothing would give me greater pleasure than for him to ram my words back down my throat & be a rip roaring success back at the City Ground.

Perhaps we could have a competition to guess the value of his next permanent transfer fee?

Just shows how much homework Leipzig did on OB? - It's no good harping on about 
a player not doing this or doing that when your'e spending the sort of money they did,
(they deserve what they got).

If I remember correctly they said at the time - "he was one for the future" and he wouldn't
be figuring much during his first year. Risking £13m on such a young player you would think 
they would be coaching him to fit into the Leipzig side and the way they play.


Some clubs (when spending big money) will watch a player for more games than Burke played
for Forest so surely if they're going to fork out £13m on such a young player you would think 
they would iron out small technicalities such as "tracking back" - I'm not buying into that!!!
